Less strict featuring team

I think it should be easier to get a track featured.
The reason I say that is because the featured section is hardly featuring any tracks, while trending is featuring too many. Only one or two tracks are featured every month, so people know that looking at the featured track section is pointless because they will never find anything new there. Because of that, the whole featured section is losing its purpose and meaning.
If it was easier to get a track featured, then more tracks would be featured, and the section wouldn't seem as dead.

 

The purpose and meaning of the featured tracks section is to showcase the best of the best, not to deliver new content on an occasional basis, so it isn't losing it's purpose. I think it's fine as it is and your suggestion would more likely just make members want a more strict section for showcasing tracks, similar to the "classic author" problem of the past where most players felt that it was so easy to get the title, that a stricter title needed to be made.

 

Trending is just a showcase of nooby liked tracks, featured tracks are the best of the best. Sometimes they do take a while between each one but if people actually put effort in to tracks you'd not wait so long between each feature. We have been discussing for a while the level of strictness we should have on featured tracks while many people think we should go easier, I still think there should be a level of strictness to featuring.

What you need to think to yourself is, is this track nooby. Yes it is? Well of course it's not getting featured.

 

I never even really considered that featured is for the best of the best, but I guess that makes sense.
I think that, maybe if it isn't the featured list, there should be some way for good tracks to get more attention. Right now, terrible tracks and the best of the best get a ton of attention, but the in-between tracks really don't get that much.
I guess it's not a very good idea for this time because there hardly are any decent tracks.

 

The problem isn't the tracks that get featured, it's that featured tracks do not get as much lime light as trending tracks. Trending maybe should be fine tuned to the slightly better tracks and featured to be a little more tame too. I still think the main problem is trending, not featured but what do you expect when the main database is noobs and kids and here, the forum is a place where everyone likes fine tuned class.

 

The reason I suggested to change featured is because trending can't really be fine tuned because the trending tracks are decided by the players, and to have moderators even slightly filter what is on trending would completely change how trending works.
I just thought of something. They recently added a feature to the site where authors would sometimes show up on the home page. If it is plausible to randomize a webpage, than maybe if the order of categories was shuffled every few times you visited the site, the problem might not be as big. However, I guess that doesn't really belong in this thread :/

"Young man" lol I published that track a month or two ago. You guys rush to feature a 22 second track and wait a month to talk about another.

 

Im genuinely surprised they didnt feature your track, east. I shouldve made a thread for it, but I figured since you made it and it obviously deserves to be featured they would immediately discuss and feature it. However, they did not. Eli might have gotten his pants in a loop because it surpasses everything hes ever made, thus halting the discussion.

 

Nice unnecessary dig *****, we never finished discussing it. So don't assume stuff.

 

Tbh I think it's everyone's fault for forgetting (Sorta, I mean it happens. C'est La Vie). I'll be up and at it asap though.
