I was thinking of this idea, where instead of just playing through a track and collecting all the stars, it would be a "collect as many stars as possible" thing. Like, they could be trials where you had to collect as many stars as you possibly could before hitting the "end star", which would submit your score of how many stars you collected. They could have little to no checkpoints, and to get each star, you have to complete a challenge. This could be set aside for special campaigns or just a freely usable score style for all track uploads. It wouldn't save your time at all, just how many stars you collected. Thoughts?
Yea and there are other ways you could use it besides the above mentioned style I am just worried it might take away from the overall simplicity of the game?..
Not really. It would only mix things up, allow people to focus on different aspects of their track, etc. and it could solve the problem that some people have with FRHD's ghosting system, too.
I would most definitely gain a massive ego from that, of course. I probably should of made one of those fancy poll thingys for this thread...
Also I think that there should be a button when you post your track that says if it is an auto or not And in the tracks page there is the non auto, the auto category as well as the other alternative tracks that have been suggested e.g. Most stars in a specified time limit
sorry to rain in on the party yall, but wouldn't people spam their tracks with those stars to that they could get easy coins? just sayin.
The stars wouldn't get you coins...people spend a decent amount of coins to post their tracks, it's no different than how tracks are currently played. I didn't know that was suggested, I think choosing a time limit gives too much control to the author. They could make a somewhat easy track and gives a time limit less than their own record to justify it being a challenge.
I say just keep it the same and simple. besides, these changes would make current tracks, well, Less useful
ok so current tracks dont have those extra stars, right. So that means that they dont earn any real money (except daily achievements). that makes the common "guy who just plays for the coins" sneer in disgust at current tracks. I dont want that. Do you?
If someone plays this game for that reason only, he's not enjoying the game...I'm not understanding though, how do you get money for collecting stars?
I never even mentioned money... If something about it confuses you, let me know so I can try to make it easier to understand.
