VIRSA not featured.

Just would like to hear from the feature track mods on why this track wasn't featured. http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/165312-virsa
It is very well done. The flip parts toward the end work beautifully; all the boosts and jumps are pretty spot on. It is a great track and definitely feature worthy IMO. The only difference between it and Wild One Express, Blue Trashcan, and Aurora is that it is not a very very hard track. And he/she is not well known.

Sorry I can say for us all but we've not been lookung around much in the last month as summer is a busy time for us all. Personally I know I'll be normal schedule from next thurs

 

Maple's track was featured on the first day it came out.

 

That was on the other site which is an easy find, we're not looking atm is what I'm saying.

Alas I played it and I wanna preview it as it seems to fit in really well

 

K well glad I could bring it to your attention. Just thought it would be kind of unjust to not feature it. But up to you guys.

 

too many boosts imo, it seems unfinished, only some windows are detailed, and the detail style is exactly the same as cityscape. The detail is not very good imo

Reasons were already given as to why dreamt place was not featured, reasons were given on grassy knoll(privately, if you want I can explain to you through pm), and pandora is not finished if it was and managed a reasonable length then it would most likely be featured.
e; also what is your point that featured tracks are mostly by the same authors? If a author was capable in the past of receiving a feature they most likely are able to receive one again.

 

The feature mods are feature mods for a reason, they don't just look for detail or stuff like that. lower quality featured tracks always have an insane ride

 

Yes in a way but different people perceive things differently, many tracks have just managed to earn their feature with a 3yes and 2 no while others don't quite make it as they end with a 2yes and 3no. I have tracks in mind that I would want to have featured and certain ones removed but so do the other mods and so in the end we just have to accept each other's opinions. If we all agreed on a track there would be no point in having multiple feat. mods.

 

VIRSA is only unfinished when you zoom out. Black Magic is unfinished too. It is a great ride, challenging but not over the top hard. The tracks I mentioned earlier are no better yet very very hard. If you guys vote on it fine, I just think it deserves serious consideration based on the tracks I mentioned earlier.

Well, I know I'm not a feature mod (nor do I ever plan to be) but here's my humble opinion.

First off, all this guy did was use grid. That's it. No curved lines, and when he didn't use locked on grid, he either just filled in a blank or did random dots. I wouldn't really call that 'feature worthy'.

Secondly, it's repetitive. No variance in the environment or jumps gave it a substandard feel. And while it was long, it was too drawn out in my opinion.

Third, it looks unfinished. Only a select few windows were really fleshed out, and the combination of finished and unfinished makes it look bland.

Forth, it's not really original. Every standard city track looks like this. Period. A beforementioned Cityscape and it's sequel come to mind. Other than planks, It's no different in detail from that track.

So yeah. There's too many problems with this track to really be a feature. This user certainly has potential, but he'll have to work harder and much longer to get it. 23 days of work is pretty short for a featureworthy project, most features are worked on for 2-6 months before put out into the open. So there you are.

 

Good argument. I concede. I just think blue trashcan and those others are no better.

 

I honestly have no idea why blue trashcan is featured XD I can see where they come from, but it's not as creative as the other two. Both of those are featured for Ness 's general originality in trackmaking. You don't see anything like his, unless someone copies him.

 

is this thread a joke? i made better city tracks when i was 10 and without using nothing but grid

 

My head is hurting trying to comprehend that statement.

 

and I'm happy grassy knoll wasnt featured it was not as good as i could have made it
