"Officially Recommended" Section

We should add a section for tracks that are simply worth playing, but not necessarily highly detailed. Essentially tracks that are worth your time. This would mean a lot of tracks being added at once, which is why it should probably be shuffled differently each time you click the section. Maybe even add "top rated" "biggest" sections etc. Featured tracks could be added to this section as well. The only question is who to put in charge of adding the tracks. Feature mods? New Elite members? Official author consensus? A completely new team? Combination of the above?

 

"Notable Tracks Section". Tracks should be selected by a new and larger team, with current feature mods included. Tracks do not have to go through consensus or vote, rather they can be put in the section based on a singular team member's opinion.

 

I like the idea of a bunch of tracks that fell short of being featured getting put onto the "Notable Tracks Section" for a month at a time. I personally don't like the idea of it being combined with the top rated list, as a lot of crap is on there which shouldn't be on the new list... All it takes to get a track on the top rated list atm is a hold up auto with bombs that says "PLUS ONE 4 MOREEEE!!!"

 

if the feat. section is going to stay, I don't think the mods should be notable mods too

 

I like pssst's idea, we could have a team and they pick tracks that aren't feature worthy, but good and put them together. This could replace trending, cause all that's on there are crappy autos

 

I'm not saying that they should be combined, but that the new list should be able to be categorized because there will probably be quite a few "notable tracks"

If it's not a consensus decision, then it would do more good than harm to have them help.

Personally, I think we should have the feature team as 5 mods, and maybe add another 5-10 on top of them for this team (maybe people sign up and the official authors vote, idk.). There is still some responsibility to this though, especially if each person individually has the power to add tracks. We don't want people just adding their friends tracks, and we need to make sure that there is some standard for the tracks in this section.

I forgot to mention this. Having tracks like this up for a limited time sounds like a bad idea to me. This section should not "replace" the trending section literally, but I think it should be where most users spend their time. We need to have as many good quality tracks in here as possible. This would really encourage people to make higher quality tracks. If they start to notice that tracks in this section are getting more attention than trending, they will aim to make tracks worthy of being added.

 

sounds good, the thing with the trending is kinda what I meant, we could have these tracks go on the sidebar next to the track ur playing where trending is currently, and it would raise the track standard

 

I like the idea of calling it recommended tracks and having a random selection of them show in the sidebar. This would really bring the necessary attention to it . on a separate note, I also think a random selection of featured tracks should scroll across the top of the "tracks" page.

Just putting out there that this is kind of the same concept. Official is too easy to get; Make a higher bar. Getting a Feature is to hard; Make a lower bar.

 

thats a good idea. because usually tracks that are on trending are pretty nooby, and tracks on featured are for pros.
