Featured Track Team is Biased

Actually you're right. I was only considering my own opinion which we already discussed. I'm just going to start a new thread.

 

Yeah, originally we were pretty strict(or at least I was) but we've slowly toned our demands down due to complaints of feat. being too ridiculous so now it is at this "grey area". It should've been kept at the standards we planned feat to be, bringing the standard down has left inconsistencies.

e; Featured should have stayed strict since it was done for those who wanted it to be a showcase of the site's best, the inspiration/ motivation which it could've possibly brought others was a bonus. It wasn't done directly as a means to further motivate authors which is what I feel that the devs now want it to be. We already have official author status as being a way to encourage upcoming track makers. In the end I'll still want something that is only the best of the best/most epic stuff from this game.

If people wanted more tracks being showcased then I suggest to make a new section and call it "notable tracks" or whatever which highlights cool works of the week/ month, that would give justice to those tracks which just don't quite do it for featured but still deserves some applaud.

 

in retrospect, looking at the featured tracks, chuck doesn't deserve to be on that list. it doesn't seem biased to me at all. the best detail, the most innovation, and the best rides are in there. chuck's tracks meet none of those qualifications (not saying they aren't good for what they are). the featured list should stay strict.

 

As I stated earlier, I strongly believe that the current popularity level of the featured list is because of it's lack of updates. Like; you check it out in june, and know you dont have to come back before august to find 1 new track added (one track that might not even catch your interest either).

I never felt I got any more or less plays/thumbs from having my tracks featured either, not like the ones that would be on trending for a week or so.
(Take it from the guy with most feat. tracks on frhd)

Atm the feat list exists as a thing to make a small amount of forum members feel good about themselves, and nothing more.
The only solution is to dramatically up the track flow, which automaticly requires a decrease in standards (this leads to more traffic = more plays/thumbs for everyone.
As Max007x also stated, it might help motivate people to develop themselves.

I see a bunch of pros for why the standards should be decreased, yet no good cons.
I also think the elite author title might be given to those who wants to be recognized as better than the average track maker, yet given at a very high level.

Edit; if anything, we could have our own hall of fame page, with the very best tracks that was ever made.

 

Well more plays and thumps ups never motivated me to make better tracks. All of my 'good tracks' had hit trending for at least two days and got more than 30 likes. But it didnt inspire me to do something new because trending and hot are determined by actual noobs who play the game for a very short period of time and are very less experienced. I think the featured section should stay strict as it is now and the devs need to make another category which consists of tracks that are decently detailed and fun and are selected by a larger group of experienced official authors including the feat. team.

Because you've been attempting to compare your own tracks to featured ones, and clearly I'm explaining why they're not, or shouldn't be featured.

I'd rather make tracks that are popular with the majority, not noobs. Uprates and subscriptions (like Armain says) does not motivate me to make a noob-friendly track

Why didn't you put any attention to detail? If I put lines like that, It'd be so cringey I'd actually cry. It looks more horrible than those hold up tracks.

It's the laziness. I'd rather not make a track that plays the same as all of my others. Variety is quite possibly the best way to get your good tracks out.

Then why don't you stop replying? I'm simply dropping down my two cents, and hell no, you just gotta reply to prove it's all wrong because you believe you favour your own track lmao

 

Yeah, a like and subscribe from a fairly respected official author than 200 likes from noobs.

 

The notable list idea is great. Maybe the Elite Authors could be in charge of that list?

I think chuck's getting a lot of unnecessary piss in this thread, mostly by young members tryna get recognition from the majority of the more "experienced members", and not because they're actually voicing any kind of honest opinion.
1. The majority are the "noobs". Forum members are a very small percentage of the people that play FRHD each day.
2. You're not qualified to tell someone to do better detail.
3. Same as 2.

1. still, having 90% of the forum base like my track (most often because it would have some lame pixel art on it) does not motivate me to play anymore
2. Lmao what? I'm pretty sure every single person on this form is qualified to give criticism.

 

theres a difference in criticism and insults ill have you know. and when your own tracks are worse than the ones you're insulting, then no, you're not qualified. you can still say it, but it doesn't give your "criticism" any kind of value.
its like calling a kid fat, while you're actually twice the size of the guy you're calling fat.

Also my tracks aren't even worse than his, lmao; i mean hell, there'll be some aspects he's better with, but on a whole, 75% of us here are better than him. >_>

 

no 75% here are not better.
the reason why, is because most people arent able to pull of any kind of theme, except from nature, skateparks and trials. really nothing that hasn't been done before, or rarely.
atleast chuck's tracks got completely different themes. the ride is also not complicated to do, but more complicated than people seem to think.
the quality of his detail in twisting nether aso is far better than most members here aswell, id say better than 90% of the forum members that are active these days.
if you've lead yourself to believe that your own tracks are better than his, well, then you've got an introspection problem.
