What's sad is that premarital sex and homosexuality are even thought of as wrong. Slowly the religious are beginning to step away from biblical morality by continuously disregarding passages like this. Almost everyone I know is Christian & almost all of them have f*cked someone or at least have claimed to. This is just the tip of the iceberg however; so many rules are broken, and by you yourself I guarantee. Hell, you may even be ignorant of some of the ridiculous laws you are to follow, particularly in the old testament, where some of the most vile morality in history is taught. Reminder; Jesus came to uphold these laws, so they are supposedly applicable to modern times.
And that's one of the biggest quarrels I hold against most religions; it doesn't matter how good you are as a person...if you do not kiss ass to said deity, you are eternally f*cked. This logic states that a child rapist & murderer is more righteous than you or I if we are atheist & he is Christian and asks for forgiveness. I fail to see how that's a beneficial mindset, rather a detriment to society, as anyone can commit nearly any crime & be fulfilled by simply getting on their knees and begging for it to be so.
That's because there isn't a logical answer other than god is an a$shole. (dunno if this site will *bleep* that) Pull all of the sophistry and mind-bending games you see fit, but when it comes down to it...any creator that caused time to unfold the way it has & allows this much pain & suffering on arguably innocent creatures is...as you'd say, "evil".
See, up until now you've created at least coherent points. Things that are easily refuted but things I don't hear from many Christians, it tells me you know your ****. However I can see from this straw-man that you know absolutely nothing about biological evolution nor the commonly atheistic view on how things came to be or may have come to be. Biologists do not assert that life came from random chance, rather that perfect conditions allowed proteins to self-replicate. (see abiogenesis) An experiment showed that amino acids can be synthesized from inorganic compounds in the right conditions. This experiment was conducted in a micro-climate similar to what scientists believe earth to be like around the time of the origin of life. This was the start of evolution. I'll explain more later as you dive deeper into the pool of ignorance.
You completely dodged the question, though I wouldn't expect you to answer it. It is still pressing for religious people though. How can you answer the question of life's complexity & existence with an even more complex being? That just raises further questions that the religious community either doesn't want asked or musters up some sort of cop-out for like, "he was eternal" or something.
We did answer the question some time ago, but our religious comrades seem to pretend like we didn't. The answer is this; we don't know what created the matter involved in the big bang & what we know as the universe. We don't try to provide any explanations because that isn't scientific. I personally will much more proudly admit that I don't know than come up with a less than satisfying explanation.
Okay lol what. Creation isn't Christianity and Evolution isn't Atheism. There are MANY people who believe in Creationism that are not Christians and MANY religious people who accept the evidence for evolution. They may say god guided it but...oh well, let them. That mindset has no detrimental effect as you're still accepting the science rather than being hostile toward it.
I don't know what you mean by "generations of data", but there are mountains of evidence, not only through the fossil record, genetics, etc but actual observable evidence of evolution taking place. What we call "adaptation" is micro-evolution; a small change in a short amount of time. Think of vaccines, specifically influenza vaccines. They are in constant need of alteration to keep up with the rapid changes of viruses. This is evolution at work, the viruses adapting immunity to previous versions of the shot, or more recently mosquitoes building up a tolerance against the deet in insect repellants. Their bodies are changing through generations of these organisms being born & dying; the traits that are beneficial pass on & those that are weak or useless will die off. And some of these changes we see in small or single-celled organisms are so significant that the generations far back look absolutely nothing alike. They will gain completely new traits.
Somehow I don't think you did. The straw-man crap & ignorance toward evolution (and even atheism) astounds me. I have a mere rudimentary understanding of biological evolution & I can still see major flaws with your criticisms of it. It's incredible to see people who know if the evidence and continue to boast animosity toward the harmless science.
