Question What should the editor hotkeys be?

What do you guys think the hotkeys should be?
(Custom hotkeys may come in the future, but for this discussion they are off of the table )

Keep in mind eraser size toggle , brush etc. All of them.

 

Right click for move camera would be quick and effecient.

 

The problem is shift is used for camera toggle, not sure where else that would go. Right click isn't really an option because track pads need a better way. (mac's don't have an easy way to right click drag )

 

I really don't use hotkeys.... so not sure if that matters to me.

 

No W curve tool hotkey please. You can't use W to accelerate with it.

 

If we have WASD as controls, we can't have any hotkeys bound to it.

 

A couple of ideas:
-Shift and +/- for eraser size
-L to change between scenery and physical lines

 

ctrl for camera, shift for snap to line

 

I like the way the hotkeys are currently.

 

Im hoping everything can be done with your left hand.
I am probably going to remove P for powerups

 

Yeah, I think they are fine. People just need to get use to them .

 

How about a Hotkey editor, where you can set Hotkeys to suit you personally? I think this would benefit us, tidy up the Editor's code, etc.

 

Shift snap please or at least on a different key. Without the shift snap efficiency I find myself resorting to the bhr editor, it just makes track making much less of a pain for my fingers.

 

I'll look at putting snap on the shift button, and then look at doing right click camera move as well as a button hotkey for it.

 

Yeah, the code is written in a way that would allow this. Its just building out the interface and saving it to the db etc that is time consuming.

 

Add the + and - keys for zoom in and out again. My scroll work doesnt work so I have to use that editor until this is fixed

 

I really miss Free Rider 2 controls. W,A,S,D to move the camera, shift to snap. It was so easy!
But of course, I'm sure all the left handed players hated it. :/

 

the only major issue for me right now is there is no way to turn on and off snapping without clicking it. alt doesn't seem to do anything for me.

 

Are you using right click move? or just regular ?
