It kind of sucks where I live, everyone is kind of conservative redneck, and people use gay and ****** as their only insults. It sucks because lots of my friends are nice people, it's just how they are raised. I mean somebody in my school on their ask.fm page was asked if there was one thing in the world you could change, what would it be? They answered no homosexuals. With all the hunger, crime, and war in this world that is what they'd change? I wish they would talk about this stuff in school, but where I live the teachers are probably homophobes as well. I know that one of my teachers is convinced that America is a Christian nation, and even talked subtly remarked about marriage might change for the worse.

i know most of you dont know but ireland just voted on gay marriage as a referendum to change the constitutional definition of marriage - and it got passed by a good margin so thats good. Out of 43 constituencies - only one constituency was 'No' majority - all other 42 were Yes majority.
And just remember we are like an 80% catholic country so dayumm

 

I vaguely heard about it on the news, but I didn't know it was by that much of a margin. That one no was probably that small percent that is hardcore about religion.

 

the European countries' religious folk are far more progressive than america's or the middle east. i seen some mini documentary thing where some christian pastor from america went down to the nordic countries & even the most religious priests disagreed with his homophobic views. it was funny to watch him scramble.

 

thats the funny thing tho. The No majority in that one constituency was only 51.4% while the Yes was 48.6% so it only just didn't go to the Yes side.
it was pretty cray because people knew it would pass but not so well. and even the No supporters were pretty cool about it so it was all oddly chill

 

So they were just 'eh, I'm gonna be a hipster and go against the mainstream but I don't really care either way'. It's just stupid that people are more open to legalizing pot than marriage lol

 

Well, in some ways, pot is better than marriage XD

we don't have a prime minister we've a Taoiseach but let me just say NO. He did the opposite actually. We used to have a total ban but he pushed through a bill to allow abortion for certain reasons - medical/emotional.

yeah if it was anything quite crazy it was probably them. After our gay marriage passed - northern ireland politicians swore that gay marriage would remain banned up North. So it just shows you the UK ruins everything

 

I thought the UK was pretty chill though.

Im straight and like some people but all my friends are perverts and annoying. They scream like ass and booty all day. I dont support gay marriage. Dont hate plz. Its just cause I go to a Caholic School and being gay/lez isnt what God wants us to do.

I was dating this girl Crystal for about 3-4 years and we were basically in love, almost never fought, no problems, and we were so in sync that we never got bored of each other, then one day she had to move to Oregon(all the way from Neptune to Oregon) and I wouldn't be able to see her again, for a really long freaking time... It's been about a year since I've seen her and there isn't anyway to talk to her cause she doesn't have a phone, Apple device, or a computer, so I know the feels...the feels...
