    Well, they aren't real numbers. Two example of complex numbers are (12+i) or (34+2j). i = sqrt(-1). i^2 = -2. Making i an imaginary number.

    You didn't answer me. The answer was " real number + imaginary number = complex number " You gave an example, while I was asking for what it was!

    In a party, your friend wants a cup of water, your other friend wants two cups of water and other friend wants three cups and other friend four cups et cetera. How many cups do you need?

    Well, maybe you actually meant one wants 1/2 a cup, second one 1/4 of a cup, etc. In that case, the answer is one cup.
    If your riddle is actually as it says, then the answer is infinity cups.
