I don't like the term virginity because it implies that sex somehow physically alters/changes you. I think it's an idea born of the concept that women are physically a certain way before sex, and once "losing their virginity" with a man, they're less whole or have "lost" something. It goes in line with the "pop the cherry" myth.

If we define a woman's virginity as the tearing of the hymen in the vagina (which is how it was originally meant to be defined, I believe) then plenty of women have lost theirs as a result of sports/masturbation/tampons (and I would've lost mine to falling on a fence when I was 12... lol). As you can see, it's kind of a silly concept.

I've been with a girl sexually, so I don't consider myself a virgin anymore. I don't think it matters I haven't had sexual intercourse. Why would I define virginity like a straight person would if I'm not straight?

You're creating an argument where there isn't one.

Sex doesn't physically change a women's body - you can't exam a woman and tell if she's lost her "virginity". Of course there are mental and physical benefits because of the stress-released and activity involved.
