I used to be pretty decent but I don't know how well I play anymore since my guitar is broken, but I'll go ahead and join in here. I had an Ibanez, it was pretty much junk and someone beat it up.

I'd put you in the hospital no lie. One time at a jam session this kid dropped her on the couch and I smacked him.

Potentially getting my first electric soon - been playing acoustic for close to 3 years. I love the Fender Tele Thinline, been wanting one almost since I began playing guitar.
But I also quite like their Jazzmasters, I've played both and from what I remember the playability was slightly better, just felt more comfortable, etc. I think I'm going in to guitar center tomorrow, so I'll get to retest and see what I like/dislike about each.

Anybody familiar with these are just have opinions on looks? ;)

When set up properly, that thinline is going to slay. My next 6 string guitar will be a thinline for sure. If it didn't play as good or better than the jazzmaster, I'd imagine that the person that set it up didn't do a very good job. I infinitely recommend the thinline. Jazzmasters are nice though, and if you personally prefer them (their necks are thinner and the fretboard is more radiused iirc) by all means go for it!

Thanks, I'll definitely take that into consideration. I do prefer the humbuckers in the thinline over the single-coils in the jazzmaster. The thinline is kinda my dream guitar, the jazzmaster just recently popped up as an option and I want to make sure I get it right ;)

Edit: Was thinking about the pickguard on the tele and found this pic, looks like koa wood, + gold hardware, uh... stunning.
