    FR3 = sequel to FR2
    FRHD = spiritual successor to CR
    Kano bought the rights to Free Rider, CR was infringing on that intellectual property so it was taken down. However, FR3 was still only meant to succeed FR2 since that was the last game in the series at the time. FRHD probably came about as CR proved to be better than FR3 for a lot of people.
