It Showed the FPS but only once. Now it doesn't happen???

 

I think a really cool idea would be having a "Not Completed" section, where if someone makes a track and can't beat it, they post it there and others can try to beat it. And if another user beats it, the level is posted as normal, but the other user's name is also on the level. Something like that, I guess.

Oh boy. Lots of new checkpoint ideas . Time to contribute.
Firstly, I don't like Char's braided idea. That would just ruin free rider. I for one would never ghost again if this were implemented, but that's just me.
Secondly, Max's idea is pretty sweet - switching between whether or not you want to see deaths. If this is do-able, then it is probably the best bet when it comes to satisfying everyone's needs.
Thirdly, about the averaging idea that Ficus mentioned, I feel as though this would completely take away the purpose of having a "time". Also, what would happen in the situation where one rider takes 2 minutes to complete a track in total (1 minute without deaths), and another takes 1 minute and 31 seconds without crashing at all? Who is better?

What if we back up and look outside the box for a second. Why don't we just have two types of checkpoints? One where the checkpoint counts and one where it doesn't? That way the track designers can choose.
I believe this has been mentioned in other threads before, but I don't remember any developer saying that it was a necessarily bad idea. Its do-able, I'm sure, but it would probably be a pain in the neck to get working. Char Eric , what do you think?

 

The reason I brought up the braid idea is this:
The checkpoint system that doesn't account for deaths introduces one big issue. Checkpoint hacking. A lot of people in CR did it, and it is unavoidable with this system. I only brought up the braid idea because it would allow everyone to basically CP hack, but in a cleaner way. (Note all of this is just talk and in no way are we even beginning to think about implementing at different system at this time, I simply enjoy the discussion)

 

Max's idea is probably best, but it's still bad. Let's say someone made an awesome ghost but had to use checkpoints a couple times. Now that awesome ghost can be easily beaten only by making a lazy ghost by carefully avoiding using any checkpoints. That's why it's problematic (my idea too) and only way to avoid this would be to have time saving checkpoints. Or at least change FPS to 25, so it would be easier to make good looking ghosts without checkpoints.

Some crazy (and not so crazy) suggestions:
- A different section in the game where there's a slight slow-mo (or less fps) and old checkpoint system to make trick ghosts and perfect ghosts (not shown in the leaderboards, or a leaderboard based on likes idk).
- You can choose your track's thumbnail.
- You don't need to friend anyone to be able to play some campaign tracks.
- Change the bombs, flags and stars for orbs (or an option to change it). It looks better (less childish imo xD) and you can hide checkpoints behind stars .
- Different notifications for someone beating your world highscore or mentioning you in a comment.

When I published cont. all my physics lines disappeared.

 

The game should have a switch that can change the position of something or it can change solid lines into background lines or background lines into solid lines when you pass over the switch. The switch should also be able to reveal things (or place them) like bombs or boosts while if the teleporter is put in the game it can turn them on and off.

 

There could also be trampolines or some kind of bouncy line (that may or may not kill you when your body hits it)

no, once they make autos work on here (good ones don't only newbie pieces of crap do) the bike needs to be able to do that for most of the autos
