It's a complicated system but I think I can speak for everyone when I say that nobody wants to downvote a nominee, we just want to uphold a high standard for what is arguably one of the highest track making achievements
And to be honest, anyone can make a featured track. If you lack skill then you'll simply need to put forth more effort to meet the standard

(and for the record I upvoted fried eggs with chorizo but the poll had closed and 3 vs. 5 is a close call)

 

I wasn’t even planning to check the forums today, but I wanted to look something up—and the last thing I expected to see was my own CC being used against a track I worked on.

Let me clarify a few things. There’s a big difference between Worlds Collide and fried eggs with chorizo. I worked with both goatosaur and triip on that track, and I genuinely believe the arguments made by the other feat mods—and their final decision—were completely justified.

When I made those comments about mR..A’s track, I meant that those tracks are very different on their own, but they share just enough similarities that you can blend them together, like puzzle pieces, to create something new. What goatosaur did on this track is something else entirely: he used resources created specifically for the track and repeated them intentionally to build an atmosphere or background through copy-pasting. And when that technique is done well (like in this case), it can look amazing.

I do think the feat mods may have focused a bit too much on the copy-pasted elements, without giving enough attention to the other beautiful, unique aspects of the track. Yes, a lot of the background is copy-pasted—but that’s far from the most impressive part.

Still, their reasoning and their decision are completely valid. And I’m saying this even though, if the track had been featured, it would have been my fifth feature and earned me the silver medal.

Please don’t antagonize the feat mods when things don’t go the way you want. They’re respected members of the community, they’ve been here for years, they know what they’re doing, and their decisions are made with the best interests of the authors and the community in mind.

 

At the end of the day it's still subjective, all art is. It's a solid piece but not one that was voted overall to merit a feature.

I think a close swing vote either way was the right choice.

 

so ik I've mentioned it before but would shoyu II be a guaranteed feat? or no? it's gonna be smooth and all but it'll be around 10 minutes, or longer. I doubt many people will complete it but it will be long and polished, just wanted opinions from the people who decide on what's feat worthy and what's not

 

You gotta be able to balance size of track and detail, make sure the detail is even through out the whole track. Not like heavy detail here and light detail there. It’s all about balance and what are people thoughts. You can think it’s great but it’s really up to the community to decide.

 

is this going to be an auto or a track? there are examples of very long tracks being featured if the ride is fantastic. a recent example ofc is chaos-fallen (who has carved out a genre, almost, from their style of tracks), an older one here: https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/50165-caesium if it's an auto i cant really speak to that, unfortunately

 

I think for an auto to be be featured it has to be innovative and impressive, and somewhat lengthy. (think tetrationiscool's feature). im no expert though

I don't think detail will matter in this especially due to the amount of work being put into the wheelie. Its not just jumps and straight lines, and plus from what ponjoja has told me, we have someone big joining the collab. We already have 6 minutes of it done with just me, ponjoja, eldritch, and someone is working on it either now, or soon.

 

I think it will need to be more like 20 mins.

You just have to consider that an auto usually constitutes minimal detail, so all the appeal has to be from the movement of the player in crazy ways, and that has to carry so much that it is worth featuring. You have to make the equivalent of maple's tracks but in the form of an auto to guarantee a feat, idk

 

there will still be detail, but not the whole track. That would take WAY too long. but at the same time tetrations got a feat and had no detail, so there's still a chance of it. I will say that the movement will be varied often, from smooth to stuff that's just hard to make and then fast crazy stuff. But I guess from what they say is they leave it mostly to tetration so idk either.

 

It will have to take WAY too long to be considered for a feat, that's what a feat is buster
