Just wanna know if anyone has some advice for like people trying to enter high level ghosting for fun. I can get on low-mid difficulty feat leaderboards in like under 6 hours most of the time, sometimes in 30 mins or less. I can’t get anywhere on the really known tracks tho cuz I just don’t have that level of control over my bike. I’m open to any advice lol I’d like to grab a feat ghost or two at some point
It really depends on the track A lot of different styles require different skillets and varying amounts of luck to get My strat is to take any trick I think will work and throw it in It often kills all my runs and leaves me with bottom of barrel consistency (see my yt playlist in signature for example) but it does result in cool runs if I hit my tricks, offroad is a good example Sleep buff sometimes goes crazy (or just coming back to the track and not playing it for a huge amount of time in a session) Definitely mental game so take breaks if needed, the more runs you get far that are good, the easier it will be over time rather than a huge fluke A lot of it is overall experience and less of "grinding 1 track to perfection" But practice can definitely pay off a lot and help a ton (i can't help in the practice regard tho much) If you ever need help on a specific track I'd be down to do a stream session on discord if you want some help to coach (discord is shamatoz) I'm not the most amazing teacher since I've never explicitly practiced but I do find myself still getting better after my previous hiatus, so I'd definitely be down to help in any way I can, or stuff to point out if you make any major mistakes or tips If you wanted spacebar tips try asking Cerasium or others for their strats on that, I wouldn't recommend my way of pressing / switching keys only in the middle of unpausing a lot of the time since that might not be the best way to learn it more in depth I could definitely make a handcam video for you though, if you're ever interested to see if maybe something can be learned from it? (Unsure on usefulness tho just hmu & lmk if you'd want that and I could) Otherwise hmu on discord would be down to send some help sometime! Best of luck
Yeah currently all of the big leaderboards I go for are around ~25 seconds or less because I have consistency problems too lol. My spacebarring strategy may be a bit weird aswell I bought a sayo device a year or so back for gd but tried it out for frhd and it worked super well. The latency is rly low and it’s easy to press z or use a second brake key mid spacebar. Not really sure how that’ll hold up competing against high level ghoster but it’s worked so far for me. Hand cam video would be useful for me, my discord is clash_82151 . I’m locked out rn but I can reset my password whenever I have time. I don’t really do calls tho Thanks for the help
Here is the handcam video: it's of me getting an alright ghost on https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/1013520-offroad-19/r/shamatoz Idk how much help it is, if you ever want me to do a voice commentary on it, let me know and I will give it my best shot! Offroading is all about staying on the ground as long as you can and NOT braking if you flip too far backwards (I'm sure there's somewhere that I ended up doing that but I pressed Z really fast to stop myself from over-rotating backwards and lots of areas where I lean back right after a bump to maintain speed and carefully routing the offroad to only get airtime if it helps me go faster offroad definitely takes skill to learn routing (or just copy the top ghost route), and to be able to play it since it is mainly a more micro corrections = faster ghost sort of playstyle I'll definitely do more handcam in the future I found it a bit weird to watch back myself playing but definitely down to help coach on other styles if you need it! Also yeah my playstyle a lot of the time is pressing keys in the middle of spacebarring, especially my Z's, which is a bit hard to copy since you need to time it pretty well that's just how I play and yes my setup is cooked lol i have to record my discord screenshare on obs and stream on laptop, so that's why it looks a lil bit odd but I think you can see the track on my handcam otherwise hope it helps in some regard!
