on some real ****:
> im really loving where heavily detailed tracks have trended on this game. from the same-old forest stuff clearly derived from lolz, to a decades-long iteration where we've seen cityscapes, fantasy worlds, dystopias, ancient architecture, non-euro forests, horror scenes, pokemon... all while the rides have been of pretty impressive quality, all considered! it's incredibly fitting this is the latest track in the heavy-detail lineage, with a new take on heavily-detailed trees (among other things as well!) so impressive, bravo. and hats off to all the players who have helped us get to this point (off the top of my head: ishu, malishya, maple, xwinx, stig, drndemi and many more im definitely forgetting)
> the dynamic-ness of this track is really something to behold, and the ride (minus the heli part) really adds to this. collapsing buildings, rising smoke, choppy waves, leaping fish, falling leaves... it's very hard to do and do well, but looks so impressive when pulled off
> the layers! beautiful. foreground begins with water, then rubble/land, then the train line, then the buildings, then buildings behind those buildings, then clouds. it's super instructive of how to have so many layers without it being an eyesore or being too busy, particularly in frhd with its level of zoom. the way that most stuff in the bg is sparsely detailed (but not everything to make sure it doesnt look off or empty!), balanced against the super heavy stuff in the foreground, which also gets more-sparse the more layers forward you come... really reminds me of maple's analysis of his own
Wrath, where the eyes are drawn inwards by a natural vignette of lighter-to-heavier detail (ig this is a reverse vignette?)
> state-mandated volund comment where i point out the chinese characters are written superbly, no notes from this quirked up white boy
> also i need to point out how insane this detailed section is. there's so many neat little detail pockets, similar to asandlands but on a smaller scale. this track is insane man

so grateful
bladee made this. i think there's so much for players of all skill level to love and learn from here, it's such an instructive track on how to build a complete, compact and heavy piece without sacrificing visual clarity or ride quality. 10/10. could see this being my TOTY vote (obvs easy to say given the dearth of feat tracks up to this point, but short of eli's colossal release, idk if any other track will change my mind). obsessed is an understatement
edit; give this man EA ffs it's crazy this is only feat 3
