Round 7 Results and Commentary

Round 7 was done by Phasetree. A decently lengthed track with boosts, a tube, tight caves, bumpy sections and offroad, this track was really the perfect mix for GBC5. Funnily enough, for the 2nd time this contest, the author of a round didn't ghost their own track

Cerasium started red hot in Round 7.
Xenom joined the party late and stole
Cerasium's top spot once again, leaving
Cerasium to fight for the win again.

Egona had an impressive performance to finish 6th with a time of 45.3. Egona now takes the lead over
Eunos for the Rising Ghoster Medal. And with
Eunos ghosting Round 7 and finishing in 8th for the round, anything can happen in the remaining 3 rounds for the most open medal, as the top 3 overall in the contest are almost set in stone.

TPlacella missed out on the top 10 with a distant 51.8 (it was my second ghost, I had no time to play the round
)
Whenever
Cryx and
triip show up, they secure the 2 points; and so they did.
Totoca12 almost pulled off another miracle, getting a 47.33 ghost, which would have been good enough for 9th if he didn't get his ghost less than 1 minute after the deadline. Only giving up 4 points, T12's 57-second ghost counted in the final results, placing him in 14th. [
IMPORTANT: The asterisk next to T12's time on the spreadsheet denotes that we do not know the exact time, but it was a 57.xx, and that does not affect the rest of the results despite not being accurate]

Protvod (The 3 P's) brought up the shortest field in the contest yet, with only 17/30 people ghosting the track. I'm sure half of those people have given up or have been inactive, but until the end of the contest, I will ping everyone on the Round track to ensure everyone is aware and they ghost in time. So

TPlacella Award for Round 7
Xenom got the better of Cerasium towards the end of the round, till he didn't. Something Cerasium has yet to do in this contest, he bounces back from a place below 1st in the dying stages, beating Xenom in the last hour to secure his 6th first-place ghost from 7 rounds, beating Xenom by 0.16 seconds with a time of 42.17 seconds.
