adorable card, looks exactly like pokemon card art, a real testament to nitro's growth as an artist. ride is creative given the space restrictions, subjects are really drawn fantastically given their poses and expressions, lighting is amazing. only thing i dont like is i now have stiffer competition in the pokemon card contest lmfao. easy yes for me

Lot to be desired about ride, just a couple of drop ins with a heli, I'd have liked more ride but considering the track it's whatever.
As for the track art, it's great but for the contest it does look like it's just an anime track with the pokemon added as an afterthought, even the darkrai which would have been an awesome add in to the track was outside the box! The main talking point here ofc is from a featured standpoint it's an obvious yes, who cares it's magnificently done.

I was one of the guys that said no. Even though Charlemagne is an amazing dude and he 100% deserves it.
While the track looks fantastic, my favorite part is the underwater one, in my opinion, it's missing that wow factor that most features have. As I've said before, when you are doing something factory-like, it's actually insanely easy to start adding stuff so that the track looks more complete.
One thing that I appreciate a lot these days is the lack of copy pasted stuff, that's something that is rare these days. The clouds, for example, they look fantastic and none of them have been copy pasted (I think).
The underwater part, as I already said, looks fantastic, the way you shapes the rocks and weeds and stuff looks incredible. Getting shapes as organic and as natural as you did, without adding any other details, it's really difficult, at least for me.
As I said, the track is missing that wow factor that, for me, lacks from getting to the featured level. However, this doesn't mean you don't deserve it, so congrats to you, been a long time coming.

kc's style really shows through in everything he does & this one is the best yet showcase of his skills. i can agree in part to what sltg is saying in that I'd love to see what kc can do by adding an impressive setpiece with that wow-factor. however the little details are what really shine in this one and throughout his work. worthy of feature!

Thank you all! I never had the slightest suspicion this might get featured given it was just something I casually worked on over the course of a week, so this is a very pleasant surprise. It's great to get some formal feedback from those I look up to in this game and I will definitely take it on board. Out of curiosity, did any of you see the bonus section accessed via the top left portal? I did my best to hide it away, so I suspect not. As for what Sergio and Alex said about a set piece/wow-factor, I've got a few old tracks in the works that should hopefully deliver a bit more in that respect. If all goes to plan one or two might be out before the end of the year, but only time will tell!

pretty sweet track! scale is massive, detail within the spire is super effective, great use of contrast to make the StS stuff pop, bit of body horror with the bone spires at the top. ride is also good fun, with a bit of powerup recycling and fun use of gravity to keep the track fast-paced. easy yes from me. what do we think?

with this being featured, dantexpress would become VIP with 10 feats - worth keeping in mind too!

Just wanted to pop in and say how great of a track this one is.
First of all, zooming out, the track is stunning. The gradient is really well done and it does feel like you're inside of a cave.

Coager's rock detail is insanely effective and so simple that makes it so much more beautiful. That detail is such an staple that it has been imitated so many times, even myself, and no one does it like him.

The drawings, I don't know many of them, but man, the thick outline works so well, and makes the characters look like stickers. By the way, insanely clean drawings, the shaping, shading and the strokes are masterfully done.

Another amazing point is the ride. Incredibly fun. I've probably ridden that track like 5 or 6 times, because it's just that fun and it really does invite you to improve your time. Also, really well integrated with the track.

Last but not least, the pines. Lovely. Probably one of the cleanest pines I've seen, also really well places throughout the track.

Amazing job, it's an obvious yes from me.

this is an old track ive been meaning to suggest for over a year now, i think the detail here is incredible. emperor is super dense but somehow insanely clean, the lines dont blur into a massive mess as is often the case with such dense detail - quite a feat given the medium and zoom level. it's a mesmerising track to look at, i feel like i find more depth and hidden details the more i look.
the ride itself is a bit controversial imo. when completed without a death, it clearly has a high level of difficulty but a great flow to it. however, im not good enough to do it myself and from the looks of it most people arent either, which to me is indicative of a ride suffering from a lack of an extra cp or two, particularly towards the end.
ultimately, i think the ride and its small scale are its biggest detractors, though they arent big enough issues to offset the crisp, intense and dense detail imo. curious to hear what people think?

Why no: The scale of the track is clearly the biggest aspect that's anchoring the track from being featured. My biggest wish when this wasn't considered for being featured was that weem would continue this track and make it slightly bigger - if he extended this ride/track by around 30sec-1min I think it's an easy feat

Why yes: Detail speaks for itself, honestly. The rock detail's insanely clean - I personally think weem's one of those authors that can just draw out magic within 3 hours and just get a featured track because he's so unbelievably talented (and underrated), and his rock detail is one of the best and distinctive, though admittedly I can testify that I'm biased because weem's such a nice guy Also speaking on the ride I have a differing opinion - the rocky bumps and the sudden elevation climbs actually make me feel like I'm rock climbling, it was my first time actually riding the track and I personally think it was really fun! It more or less is concrete evidence that weem can also make some interesting rides instead of the normal smooth dirt jumps that's associated with this level of rock details nowadays, but that's just my silly opinion (and also no shade to anyone else, my point is that the ride was outstanding)

Gonna go yes with this one for now, but I can completely understand why people would go for no - if anything, weem is also more than capable to continue this track and make it bigger scale. But imo that shouldn't strip away how good this track is in its current state.

Great rocky detail as per usual, however there isn't really anything that stands out on top? Like a centrepiece. Been having this complaint with him last couple I've seen, he did change that in our collab but I think that and himself are the only things stopping him from being known as a great rather than just being great. Could also be longer and to more scale but I know how hard and long this would have taken for him.

Ride, got to the last star. Couldn't seem to hac the anti gravity, probably could do it later.

Hi guys, we had a discussion about this with valid points being brought up all around. Would love to hear from the rest of you about where you stand with auto features/what you'd like the criteria to be.

I think your opinion is valid, would love to hear automakers chime in here too. For me this is just a really skillfully made auto. Some of the tricks wow me like when the rider gets stretched all the way out and the velocity moves it along or tetration’s skillful use of the tiny lines to generate speed in a loop. Or when the rider falls all the way in that twisted up mode guided only by narrow lines. Some of these are tricks that I actually haven’t seen before and represent a distinction from autos of older eras (eras which were great and innovative in their own way). Plus it’d be tetration’s first feat which would be cool.

I think you already brought up a couple of criteria that could be used for judging autos (length, quality), although I disagree with your characterization of it as a can of worms—if people want to suggest something for feature, I don’t see the reason why they shouldn’t. You can always vote “no”.

To my knowledge BHR and CR especially had featured autos. There was at least one VIP automaker, TheZengo

I think that autos will be considered for feature in a holistic manner which means that an auto with great detail can offset minor deficiencies in other areas. Does that answer your question?

The whole track looks like it was just scribbled in as a rough outline and never cleaned up. Theres no depth and everything just looks the same when you're riding through it. More detail doesn't mean it will be a better track if you can't even tell what you're even looking at. I read the comments on the track and it seems like no amount of advice will be taken because he feels like he needs to defend himself instead of accepting the help he's receiving.

I just went back and read every single one of the discussions on your featured tracks specifically, and my god i have never ever seen such amounts of feedback given to anybody. They dont give that amount of feeback to me and i ask and ask and ask. And the funniest part about it is that you don't listen to a thing. If I go back 9 months ago, your detail hasn't changed a bit. And just because the pile of dirt gets bigger, its not gonna magically turn into gold. Your tracks are like a big blob of detail. In general. There's nothing on there that catches my eye, its all just a big mush. Which one could argue that the way you do your rocks and grass is good, but man the track is more bland than what they give to my great-grandfather for dinner. Theres nothing in here, nothing that makes me excited when i see it, nothing that catches my attention, its like a steak with no seasoning man. If at least you told me that the ride is insane or something, but its a 40 second track that isnt even fun to ride on.

Just for the fun of it let me list all the things that are wrong with this track just by naming thing other people have said:
- tweak your rides a bit so theyre more intuitive. (Volund on MW)
- Usually, when we go about depicting many details in any art piece, we run into the problem of everything blending together visually, making a clutter, which is what happens here in my opinion. (malishya on MW)
- it's just missing that "thing" (alexander on MW)
- shading is unrefined, lot of linework outside of foreground unrefined, perspective is munted (Volund on Shadow Unit)
- youve been given the map to making a featured track and dont use it (Rayb on Shadow Unit)
If you ever decide to listen to anything people are saying to you, maybe one day you could get a feat. And I'm telling you this when i got 3 myself.
