There’s an isometric grid setting on freerider.app . the new editor is amazing for working on any type of free rider track you could imagine. If you’re gonna make isometric/3D tracks or images it’s way easier there. Also don’t rip my sh,it bro!!!

A simple optimization trick I use

I feel like this could potentially be the subject of an informational thread but I feel like it's such a niche thing that not many people would benefit from it.
Feel free to let me know if I should turn this into a thread.

In one of my tracks (Deterioration) I have thousands of small pipes that connect the different machines to each other. When multiple pipes cross paths I do one of two things.
    1. Make one pipe go over the other
    2. Merge the pipes with each other.

After I have the layout of where I want the pipes to be I shade them. And I use this trick to help keep the file size of the track down as much as possible.
There are usually areas where lines going in the same direction overlap. Instead of drawing one line over another, I just draw one line that spans the length of where both would be.
    Tip thing.jpg

There are a lot of points in my track where lines like these overlap. Because of this method of drawing I've managed to keep the file size of my track as low as I can while keeping it visually identical to how it would be with the extra lines.

    Does this matter?
In all honesty, with the size of my track it doesn't really matter if I keep the extra lines or if keep things overly optimized. But you can still do this elsewhere to make sure your file size doesn't get too big.
Lines can easily overlap when shading large areas which can definitely affect the file size. This can also happen if you're making a custom object in within an editor that supports them.

But then again people like to go "Big KB count = feature worthy!!11" So maybe you should ignore all of my advice and make lines overlap on purpose to keep the file size big.

    Conclusion

Please ignore this post and make your tracks as unoptimized as possible to trick the VIPs and EAs into featuring them.
