once a week, we'll have a small trackmaking contest based around a theme. there will also be a ghosting contest you can find here: ghost jam

this week's theme: peach jam

you know I love Mario, so I had to do it again. one of the coolest track genres, inspired by the incredibly fun platforming and awesome characters in the Mario games. check out the ghost jam for some fun Mario-inspired tracks.

so the rules of the track jam are simple:

• make a track matching the theme (in this case, Mario track. you don't gotta use the starting code if you don't want)
• collabs are allowed, but scored points will be evenly split

double points! the best ten tracks at the end of the week will get FRHD Teams points, 200 points for 1st place, 120 for 2nd, 80 for 3rd, 40 for 4th, and 10 points for any other track in the top ten.

Ness This is Spare1 - I posted a track for this week’s jam but the code didn’t work from freerider.app into the freeriderhd.com track publisher. I am only able to get to my computer in 30 minutes to post the finished version since there is a major crash on the highway home. Please consider my situation and consider delaying the judging since I put many hours into it. I will let you know when I repost it in around 30 minutes.

1. loge_0 - Wah - I'm a sucker for a loge trial. the layout and scale here is mind-melting, detail is great and what I've played so far is puzzling and lots of fun. great entry man.
2. Uniior - Lonely Goomba - really like the look of the blocks, the pipes and coins are nice too. the ride was fun, maybe a little boost-heavy but definitely a cool layout. happy you entered a track jam!
3. Spare1 - Peach's Peril - love the piranha plant and the bloopers, and the castle is really nice too. definitely could have used a fun ride to match! good stuff.

 

I’m really hoping we can get smaller users who aren’t on forums right now involved in the track jams, I feel like it would be so much fun to have loads of entries big or small, and I think that it would totally increase the effort some put into working

The left is your track you just submitted for the contest, and the right is my track, Mario Preview, that I released over a year ago (and which is probably on your mind because it was in the ghost jam).


It's fine if you use my stuff (hell, we're all copying from Nintendo anyways), but you can't do it without asking me.

 

I admit I did use that in my track.
I decided to draw it before I saw your track. Once I started to draw the base of it, I saw your track in the track jam and decided it was better off to copy it since it was a small part of each of our tracks.
