what did shamatoz even do, and why does anyone care

What did ShamatoZ do that caused them backlash and they left for a few days? Also, its a browser game... why does anyone care?

 

I have a few points here;
1. They aren't leaving for just a few days, there are planning on leaving permanently.
2. They had cheated almost all their featured ghosts.
3. People care because they kinda like to have their featured ghosts and it sucks to be lied to for over a year.

 

Why does he have to leave though?

 

I and many others personally don't care. Although what he did was wrong he's a great guy and doesn't deserve to be hated.

i beg for yall to stop the shamatoz meat riding, shīt is insane

stop trying to downplay the cheating and think for a moment about how cheating effects the community:
- wastes the time of totoca and eryp, who give up their free time to moderate here. hours spent deleting cheated ghosts, editing ghosting ranks etc could be spent on contests, or on personal stuff irl for them
- takes away credit from legitimate ghosters who were beaten by shamatoz's cheating
- de-legitimises the ghosting community, casting aspersions on everyone as a potential cheater (unless they prove otherwise)
- necessitates the need for non-cheaters to clear their name when they otherwise wouldn't have to

not to mention that cheating in general is just completely unfair and unfun to everyone else. it's selfish and bullshit and should always be punished. the only reason why the ban isnt a perma, is because the game is dead and insular, and we hardly have the privilege of banning every cheater (even though they 100% deserve it)

the argument "it's just a browser game" is cringe, because you could say the same thing to cheaters - why cheat on a browser game, it's not that serious. have some respect for the ppl here who enjoy the game enough to want to be the best at it, despite it being "just a browser game".

all this being said, no matter what you cringe shamatoz meat riders say, the ban is being upheld. so stfū and play the game. if you do the crime you do the time, once the ban etc is lifted shamatoz has every opportunity to try and turn things around for themselves, and make a name for themselves again - in-game - *legitimately*.

The phrase "it's just a browser game" is such a weak mindset. You are ok with what happened, losing, imperfection of a craft. When you stop getting angry after losing, you've lost twice. There's always something to learn, and always room for improvement, never settle.

alright thanks for your guys various opinions. idk why i mentioned that it was a browser game - that shouldn't go into reasoning as to why anyone would care about it. Volund you make a lot of valid points and so I agree with you that what Shamato did was wrong. however i don't think he should be permanently banned because of it. maybe he could be banned for a little, or some other punishment. also, all his cheat ghosts should be deleted. thanks for the responses.

 

Are you claiming that you have not tried to cheat before so therefore are justified in your own demeaning? You are not trying to shut ShamatoZ down in order for him to learn from his mistakes. You are demeaning him in order that your own wasted time will be put on to a leaderboard for what? If the game is so dead why does it concern you that your own score should be put up. I do agree that cheating is wrong. Also that what ShamatoZ did was not justified, but that does not mean that he can not have a second chance. Dude, he just recorded a video of him deleting all of the TamperMonkey tools he used. I know that he could easily re-install them but up until he admitted that he had been cheating nobody had been concerned with it. I do thank Totoca12 as well as Eryp for their efforts to try and make the game better. If ShamatoZ did not try to be better, I agree the ban should be permanent ie 6022603 but at least ShamatoZ came clean about it.

 

yo i killed someone the other day but i came clean about it so it's ok
