And we are back!

It's December, and not only is it time to eat lots of food and celebrate Christmas, but it is also time for the annual Free Rider HD Awards! Word on the street is FRHD is dying, but FRHD would truly be dying if there was no awards to congratulate the fantastic playerbase this game has.

FAQs and other sundry information will be below the voting categories. This year there are 13 categories to vote in, and you don't have to vote in all 13, however if you don't, Eryp will delete your forum account (sorry but I don't make the rules). So, lets begin!

Voting system
The voting system this year is the same as the ones used in the 2020-2021 Awards. There are 3 votes per award, and you can rank them 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Your first place vote will get 3 points, your 2nd place vote 2 points, and your 3rd place 1 point.

Example:

2nd. User2 (2 points)
3rd. User3 (1 point)

Again, you do not have to vote for all 3 users in a certain award, you can just vote for 1 or 2 if you would like.

FAQs
Can I vote for myself? No. The vote will not count if you do. Neither will it count if you vote on an alt-account for yourself.
Where can I go for the best tracks and ghosts? here and here for the best tracks and ghosts, respectively. A note for the ghosts, everything onwards after the given post is the best ghosts of each month in 2022, thus don't only count the ghosts in the post given, but also the posts for each month of 2022.
Do I have to vote for each award? No...
Where do I send my votes? In order for your vote to be counted, it must either be PMd to me on forums, or DMd to me on discord, @dantexpress#2646. Votes from anywhere else, including this thread, will not be counted.

Here are my votes as of right now, in-depth analysis and very honest:

FRHD Member of 2022: Idek, tbh no offence to Totoca12, but I'm not gonna give Member of the Year to him again, maybe Elibloodthirst for all he has done this year.

FRHD Staff Member of 2022: Totoca12 without question, is such a legend in what he does to help this community.

Most Improved Player of 2022: Without a doubt Xenom, 3rd in FRWC 6 and up-and-coming ghoster, shoutout to Drndemi though for some great tracks and ShamatoZ for shocking us with some great ghosts.

Best Track Creator of 2022: Hard one, RadiumRC was up there (before some featured tracks were removed because of a tracing scandal). It would have to be Elibloodthirst with 2 featured tracks and the remarkable Desperation Part III track.

Best Track of 2022: Shoutout to Skijumping for the 1000 Jumps track, although not as technical as other trackmakers, quite literally the biggest jump track in FRHD! Best Ghost of 2022: By far the hardest to decide, narrowed it down to a few ghosts by Anonyymi the legend making some great ghosts and the elephants in the room, RadiumRC and Cerasium. But RadiumRC ghost on 0007 was just too good to ignore: https://www.freeriderhd.com/t/885967-0007/r/radiumrc

Best Ghoster/Racer of 2022: Another hard one, but with RadiumRC falling off FRHD for what could be forever, the top ghoster would have to be my man Cerasium, winner of FRWC 6 in an amazing turn of events and made heaps of legendary ghosts.

Best FRHD Moment of 2022: An underrated category, we had moments like FIREBEATS (rip to him) returning and then leaving, @RubeGolderberger getting a non-spacebar featured ghost for 1 day, FRWC 6 and many more! But this one was so memorable, Cerasium literally teasing RadiumRC by winning FRWC 6, AT THE LAST SECOND, beating him by over 2 seconds! Remarkable!

Best Forums Thread of 2022: Although forums have died down in the last few years, we had threads like "Zycerak Thread" and "RadiumRC" pop up and produce some wild activity. But we all have to agree, "Free Rider World Cup 6" was an amazing contest/thread, also gaining almost 1000 replies in a couple of months it running: https://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/ended-free-rider-world-cup-6.14275/

Most Helpful/Nicest Member of 2022: We all love someone who is there for the community, people like ShamatoZ with his knowledge and kind words, and Elibloodthirst with his experience. But we all know Totoca12 rules this, it is his job as Administrator that he pulls off in great fashion, helping people and running this game exceptionally well while also being a great person.

Most Active Forum Member of 2022: Tough one, hard to judge who is active on forums a lot. I myself TPlacella was very active on forums, logging on every day and keeping the forums tab idle 24/7. But because it is selfish to nominate myself, I think Cerasium deserves this, liking literally every post on forums and making great additions here and there.

Most Active Member of 2022: Although I said that it was selfish to nominate myself in the last category, I genuinely think I was the most active member for this year. TPlacella put in the effort to log on every day, grind points, ghost tracks, complete daily achievements and just get some daily FRHD in. I cannot recall a day I didn't play FRHD, even if it was for 10 minutes.

Funniest Member of 2022: I thought this guy TPlacella was funny (not rly), but people like Elibloodthirst, Rayb25, SilentFinger, Zycerak, Coated_Badger and many more appeared to me to be quite funny. I have not yet decided on this category either, so you guys I mentioned should throw me some funny lines.

Those are my votes, all very honest imo, you guys can use my recommendations to vote for those guys but you can come up with other people too for the award or 2nd and 3rd.

i mean who actually cares if the thread is "clogged up" if it sparks conversation and gives people that aren't sure of what to vote some ideas?

 

I know it’s not going to be in the top but can we give a shout out to Bellboys for coming out of nowhere and putting in some decently good ghosts? The account has potential and with some refinement, could actually get a couple features under their belt. Also shout out to track creators like The_risen_skyrider, goatosaur, TPlacella, NandoLorris, SketchyLemon, and many many others. We have some really good up and coming talent that was shown this year and a bunch of nominations for next first feature and the coveted “rising star” banner. I have a good feeling that next year will show some of the most progress and diversity in the track making scene we’ve had in years and I truly believe the game is on the rise again. Slowly. Very slowly. But we’re consistently getting over 100 active plays a day and on good days we’re hitting 150 about every other week. It’s not a lot, but we’re on the rise and with it, new talent.

Thanks for the shoutout! Also no offence to your opinion, but Bellboys is still kinda a nobody, decent mobile ghoster, but is dwarfed compared to what people like MatthewMatthew58 did out of nowhere in FRWC 6. Also, still think you need to refine your ghosting knowledge, someone like Bellboys will never get a featured ghost because a) plays on mobile, and b) doesn't spacebar. Even someone with my skill as a non-spacebar player will probably never get a featured ghost. Even if I did, it will immediately get stolen by a spacebarer. Similar case to Rube, the dude is a better all-round nsb ghoster than me, and when he got a featured ghost, it was immediately taken back. Maybe try learn a thing or too, I knew nothing at the start but when I decided to do my research, I learned a junk load and found some stuff interesting, there is always something new you can learn.

Also, it is hard to tell how many people actually play FRHD. Tbh, many people still play the game but fall off after a while, only major problem is that forum activity and major updates have dropped. I've certainly played FRHD every single day this year, but are you referring to constantly active players or players in general? I feel like the number is way more. Good points made in this though comment, just not 100% accurate.

 

I understand that Bellboys probably won’t get a feature, and I know that someone like mathewmathews did a lot better, but bellboys still got decently far into frwc6 for being a mobile nsb ghoster. That he even qualified is testament to that. I know he isn’t the best, but I thought it’d be good to at least acknowledge the accomplishment and presence. In terms of activity, yes a lot of the recent and elevated activity has been from guests, but it’s still activity and activity from guests is the first step to a bigger and better community. With the track makers, there’s like 5-7 people (of my knowledge) that are like 98% of the way there to a feature. 2023 is the year I believe where people will find that last 2% and the list of players with features will grow exponentially
