ENDED Free Rider World Cup 6

So here we go! Eryp got a little busy so we ended up having a delay in the seeding process, but everything was resolved. I ended up making it myself, but I tried to do it as fair as I could. I created like a table with the 8 groups as rows and the 4 pots as columns. Then I used a random number generator (the Google one) set from 1 to 8 at first, and then the first number would be the placement on the Qualifiers of the player from pot 1 set for Group 1. Then I would do the same thing for Group 2, 3, 4 and every single one until Group 8. After that, I would repeat the process for pot 2, with the possible outcome varying from numbers 9 to 16. After that was over, I would do the same for pot 3 (with numbers varying from 17 to 24) and then for pot 4 (with numbers varying from 25 to 32), all of those numbers being references to the placement the players had in the Qualifiers. We had one draw between Coated_Badger and Chaos-Fallen, but since Coated_Badger got 27.00 seconds first I put him above Chaos, as it was in the spreadsheet. I screen recorded the whole process, so if people want to see that later (really boring), I can sort it out. After that, I replaced the placement numbers with the actual players and we finally had the groups set. So without further ado, here are the groups:

Quick commentary: Really tough group. We have 3 players here with ghosting medals. CHARREDLIZARD21 got a top 10 medal in the ORG last year and has a peak of over 5 features in the Official Featured Ghosts thread. Chaos-Fallen has a medal in the GBC1, finished 4th in the last FRWC and has reached the Legendary Ghoster medal. The guy has loads of experience in ghosting contests, but let's see if this will be enough to top this group. We can't forget that ShamatoZ is having a dope year and reached the Pro Ghoster medal recently. Also, we can't forget the 4th place in the Free Rider World Cup 4 and the awesome start in the Qualifiers. AfterImage will have a lot of work to do, coming from pot 4 in this group, but I'm excited to see how this one will turn out. Good luck, guys!

GROUP 2:

Uniior
Setsu

Quick commentary: An interesting group for sure. We don't have many players super experienced in ghosting contests here, so it'll be interesting to see what those guys will do against each other. Uniior does seem like the favorite, but Setsu showed a lot of potential and RandomTurtleBoi and pawflix showed that they are willing to fight as much as they can in this contest. Should be interesting.

GROUP 3:

Reborn
Sidewalk
RubeGoldberger
Overthrown

Quick commentary: Another really good group. Reborn and Sidewalk are experienced ghosters and are probably the clear favorites, although I'm not exactly sure if there's a clear favorite for 1st place here, but we can't underestimate RubeGoldberger. The guy got a very surprising victory against Sidewalk in the ORG last year, so we can't doubt what he's capable of. It would be a tough task to qualify in this group, though. Overthrown will also need to give it all on the tracks, because the mission is indeed really complicated. Good luck, guys!

Quick commentary: This is a very diverse group. We have Cerasium, that has 4 ghosting contest medals, almost 90 features and is probably the most active ghoster right now and is a great contender for the win in this tournament, we have adversitas, that is an old legend with some great ghosting moments on Free Rider and is doing sort of a small comeback for this, we have MatthewMatthew58, that isn't really that well-known but was a good surprise in the Qualifiers and we have the myth, the legend, the one and only WrzodX coming from pot 4, that is an old Free Rider 3/Free Rider HD legend and finished in 2nd place in the very first edition of this contest, back in 2015. I don't know where this group is going, but although Cerasium is a clear favorite here and probably wants the gold medal that didn't come last year, I'm curious to see how things will turn out for everyone.

Quick commentary: Sick group. Yeah, we all know that RadiumRC is the clear favorite here, the guy is the 1st place in the Official Featured Ghosts leaderboard, the Free Rider All-Time Top 100 Ghosters list and he's coming from a win in the last big contest we had on the game (End Of Season Tournament at the end of 2021), but I feel like we could have a really cool battle for the 2nd spot in the Round of 16 here. Yeah, Coated_Badger had a great ghost in the Qualifiers, but I'm curious on how further Tubiek and we_are_number_one can push things here. Good luck, guys!

Quick commentary: Yeah, I can see a clear favoritism for Cerulean here (the guy has the legenday ghoster medal, finished 5th in the last FRWC beating Madara and RedOrBlue, and he also won the GBC3) and also Cork, that is an experienced ghoster, but R1ley070 and lightninggod were the players with less votes on the poll to make it past the qualifiers, so let's not underestimate them. Quick commentary: Not an easy one for sure, haha. In the past 3 years there's no many players with more ghosting contest experience than Stevie.T. The guy got a bronze medal in the FRWC3 and the GBC2 and a silver medal in the GBC3. He knows what he's doing. Last year he advanced in a legendary group with Zycerak and Cerasium, so I know it's going to be tough. Yeah, I do have some experience in ghosting contests, so it should be interesting as well. Let's hope I can do better than the past 2 years. As for the other 2 players, this isn't going to be easy for us. We got the best placed player from the pot 3 (the experienced Rippedmagnet) and the best placed player from the pot 4 (HoneyBadgers). Good luck, guys! It's going to be fun!

Quick commentary: Pretty interesting group. Not many experienced players in ghosting contests, but we have some interesting ghsoters here that I'm interested on seeing more during the contest. I think Xenom is the favorite, but we never know.

Now let's talk about the next round, the first group stage match. The round will be in a trial made by me, that follows my "contest track standards", so I hope it's a fun round for everyone. I wasn't going to make a track for the contest anymore, especially not this soon, but with 2 trackmakers dropping out kind of last minute I needed to step up and do this. But I think it turned out ok. Let's hope it doesn't have as much shortcuts as last year's track, haha.

Also, just to remember: If you win the match, you get 3 points, if you get a draw, each player gets 1 point, if you lose, you gain no points and if you don't complete the track you lose a point. After the end of the 3 group stage matches, the 2 players with the most points advance to the Round of 16, the others go to the Losers Championship. If there's a tie in points, the combined time average from the Group Stage is the first tie-breaker criteria. The second tie-breaker criteria is who won the matchup between the players that are tied in points. If it's a triple tie (or more) or if the match was a draw, then the third tie-breaker criteria is the time in the Qualifiers. If somehow it's still a draw we can figure something else. Most of this information is in the main post, though.​
