Free Rider Lite – New features!

Whoever plans on using this would surely understand what is meant by km. Hence, I didn't include it. It wouldn't look too good either.

 

Those of you using Free Rider Lite, I am physically incapable of releasing any updates to the extension itself; however, being that most of the code is being fetched remotely, I can update the majority of the extension's functionality without having to update the actual extension. Since I'm not willing to release a new edition of Free Rider Lite, things will remain this way until further notice. Thanks.

edit: It would actually be extremely easy to make this a tampermonkey script, I'm just not going to take the time to merge the 80+ individual files linked to the extension.

 

Hey y'all,

It's been a while since I've made any changes to Free Rider Lite; hence, here are a few changes coming in the next update:

• The UI has been moved to the extension popup. It will no longer be injected into the HTML as done in previous versions. Being that the mod is in the form of an extension, I might as well take advantage of this feature.
• Those settings in the UI which, previously, weren't working as they should now function properly.
• Multi-mod compatibility — allowing various mods to function simultaneously (requested vastly)

P.S. Being that I lost my developer's license due to the termination of my google account and a new one costs $5 CAD, although it's not much, I won't be spending money on a developer license I'll only ever use once. My point being that you will have to install the new extension/mod and future updates manually. I apologize for this inconvenience. Furthermore, I'll provide step-by-step instructions on how to manually install an unpacked extension.

If you wish to manually install the latest release of Free Rider Lite, you may do so by following the steps below.

Begin by clicking this link which should automatically install a zip folder to your computer containing the necessary contents to install the extension.

After downloading the necessary resources, you must extract the content located within the zip folder. You may do so by right clicking on the zip folder and clicking either 'Extract here' or 'Extract all' in Windows 11. You should not create a new folder when extracting the zip folder's contents. By default, it will:

All you have to do is remove the '\frhd-lite-master' from the end of the path:

After successfully installing the necessary content, you may visit the chrome://extensions on chrome and follow the final step. You must first, if you haven't already, enable developer mode. This can be done from the top, right hand side of your screen. After doing so, you'll be greeted by a couple of options:

You'll want to click 'Load unpacked' and navigate to the folder you extracted from the zip file:

I've found a way to do this. It will, however, limit the amount of changes and features I can implement into this mod in the future. It also might interfere with some of Polygon's mod's features. Being that both mods have similar features (custom colours), if dark mode is enabled, Lite would take over. One, however, could easily simulate Lite's dark mode via Polygon's mod's custom colours. Therefore, Lite is rendered almost completely useless. I am capable of implementing almost anything. If anyone has any ideas, leave them below. I'll open the thread temporarily.

Hey y'all,

Quick update: I plan to change the way records are saved in the near future. This will affect anyone using a script for TAS with Free Rider Lite. That, however, is something I don't consider to be a real issue that would impact my decision on this; hence, I will go forward with my plans when the time comes.

Scripts written for TAS will no longer work with Free Rider Lite.
