    no but seriously, there is no point questioning the admin's motives. OA used to be a thing which actually signified an achievement, but with the influx of newer players that standard is slowly and surely being lowered to accomodate the worse players. 9/10 of the people who have gotten it recently don't deserve it.

    quibbling about OA and whether or not people deserve it is pontless. in the long run, who really cares if you have OA. lets be real, the only REAL benefit of OA is more track space (and, really, if you've reached 200 tracks, most of them are probably tracks that could have been made in a few minutes, unless ofc you've been here several years.)

    TLDR; why bother arguing about something that doesnt affect you in anyway. if it gives people some joy to have a meaningless OA title, then let them enjoy that. don't shoot the messenger.

    I got OA when I had over 70 subs, 500 is too much in my opinion, I think the amount should at least be over 50, so its still easy to get but not as easy, tho I do agree about the likes part.

    I mean, you guys are not wrong. OA was supposed to be earned, it took me like 3 years to get, haha. But the rules changed before we became admins and even Char said at one point that you should only ask on forums to get OA. The thing is that there's just a small percentage of players in the game that are on the forums, so if you are on the forums asking for OA you probably care for the game, either because you think OA means anything now or because you want to make more tracks. Either way, you care for the community. So I feel like eventually the older devs/admins got tired to have to look through hundreds and hundreds of tracks everyday to decide if a player should have OA or not and decided to keep it for everyone who asked, since that still is a small part of the community as a whole.

    This "new rule" was kinda forgotten because Stig, Max007x and mR..A eventually got busier and/or more inactive on forums and stopped getting people OA in general (although they still did it once in a while). When Eryp and I were promoted to admins, we decided to keep that "rule", because it's pointless to have requirements for OA anymore. Many people had already gotten OA "without deserving" it, so I feel like we can't make it fair anymore, unless we go through judging every single track in the database (over 800.000) and deciding who should get OA and who shouldn't. We are not doing that (PS: Also, removing OA from some people could be very problematic). So for now, OA is more like a "reward for active users" that want to still make tracks for the community, while we have some stuff like Elite Authors or VIPs in the forums to highlight the "best players", usually from a trackmaking standpoint. Is it the ideal? No, since you only get some forum abilities with VIP or Elite Author, but that's what we had before we became admins, and it would be insanely problematic to change it now. I hope people understand that.
