Featured Track List: Update

Remove taiga, I know its one of your favorites but it shouldnt make the cut just for that.

Well it isn't just that. The track has all the aspects of a great work. Clean consistent detail throughout and its original creative setting makes it a great track to look at. The track isn't hindered by the detail. It's quite well done, the duration of the track is fair and its use of powerup aids in achieving a sense or epicness(slow mo being used properly). Playing it is quite refreshing. The design of the track is carefully thought and albatross is able to execute it. Unlike some of the other tracks on the featured page chosen for their amazing detail/significance back in its time Taiga is chosen because it excels in every aspect regarding track making.

 

I love taiga.

 

I hope you guys aren't simply choosing tracks because they're a great work. Because I can simply name many other great works. This track has good detail, a decent track and a slow-mo, I can name loads of other tracks like that. I thought the goal for the 1st page of features was to gather the greatest tracks of all time, and this track does not fit in that category.

 

Isn't the point of featuring tracks is to look for amazing pieces of work? because I'm positive that's what taiga was.

 

In that case, why are we even doing this? All these tracks have been featured before. Why not just leave them as they were? Why not have them in with the newer tracks that are also amazing pieces of work? Because we want to honor the significant tracks that changed the game. Wasn't that the point of this? If not, I was lied to.

 

I said amazing. Amazing is top tier pssst, whatever we're beyond trying to please you for everything, other opions matter.

Taiga is an amazing track. Can we stop letting pssst post in these threads? No tracks make him happy and he's not even a popular track maker so his opinions mean... less.

You guys keep going, small question, where can i view the previously featured track? If you go to featured tracks it'll only show like the 30 most recent, instead of starting a new page.

Ah, when I simply click on featured tracks on the homepage the other pages aren't offered.

 

Honestly, we all play the game for different reasons. I may not play the game as an artist, but I play the game to make what I find fun and I'm good at what I decide to make. I've also been here a long time. So I deserve as good an opinion as anyone and you're no one to say otherwise.

 

Honestly arguing about the featured tracks is getting old. I say get some classics but make sure to get some new ones too. As long as that happens it's fine by me

Depends on your browser, I think at the moment whistlers mountain is the only track on that page

The featured track listing should be tracks that stand out as great tracks. Be it artistic or fun. A lot of these classic tracks wont see the light of day without being on the featured track listing. I believe a lot of the tracks that some of you guys are saying "no" about (taiga), 100% belong on the featured track listing. I know that taiga was Velskys favourite track. I think all of the tracks listed here http://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/honourable-classics-thread.1536/ should be in the featured track listing. They are better than +95% of the tracks uploaded . We want to expose these tracks to new players, and welcome them to the tracks that inspired all of you.

Im going to veto this discussion and say if a track has a slight feeling it should be featured, just feature it. There are 1300+ pages of tracks. Lets fill at least 3-4 pages of featured tracks right away. Some of you are taking things a bit too serious, and giving the mods a hard time and making them feel pressured (they didn't say this, I'm getting the vibe). There are a lot of tracks I have never seen before that are classics and should be put somewhere where they can be found.
