How many cups exactly will you need!?

A ferryman has a problem. He has to take a goat, a wolf and a cabbage to the other side of the river. His boat is only big enough to carry two of them at a time. How can he get them safely to the other side without any of them being eaten?

Riddle :
The man and the chicken cross the river, (the fox and corn are safe together), he leaves the chicken on the other side and goes back across.
The man then takes the fox across the river, and since he can't leave the fox and chicken together, he brings the chicken back.
Again, since the chicken and corn can't be left together, he leaves the chicken and he takes the corn across and leaves it with the fox.
He then returns to pick up the chicken and heads across the river one last time.

How is it one cup if your friend wants one cup and then your other friend want 1/2 cups, so it's already 1.5 cups

Since you have ∞ friends, you need 1/∞ cups. Which means you need ∞ parts of that one cup that you have, so you can divide them. So it's one cup!

 

Actually, that's wrong. It is much more complicated. In short 1/2+1/4+1/8.... = 1. You can find out more about these on Numberphile.

 

I was talking about 1//∞ as a complex number, not a real number -_- You obviously don't know maths, do you!?

 

Actually, I'm 3 grades ahead in math. I know what I'm talking about.
