Awards Ghosting Awards/Community Polls

Hey guys, welcome to this new thread. As the name suggests, we will have 2 main types of activities happening here, and those will be the announcement of Ghosting Awards, that I'll explain in a bit, and this will also be a place for Community Polls related to ghosting, where we will hear your opinion about subjects related to the Races forums.

So, first things come first. Let's start explaining the Ghosting Awards idea:

Ghosting Awards:

I was discussing things with people from the FRHD Top 100 Ghosters List team, and I had this cool idea that they all supported. The idea is to create a place where we could give some more recognition (and maybe some prizes) for some ghosts and ghosters, and for racing achievements in the community in general. We don't have the full extent of which kind of awards will be held here, but we had 2 ideas to start things in the right way.

Ghoster of the Month:
The first one was to do the Ghoster of the Month award. Every month, the team (Sidewalk, Xenom & Totoca12 at the moment, with some occasional help from Calculus) will make a top 3 list of ghosters from the previous month, that will be announced in this thread and then added to the archive in the main post and to the Current Award Winners post (the 2nd post). The idea is that if this becomes a sucess, maybe we can have coin prizes for the first place each month. A variation of this (Ghoster of the Year) could totally be a good thing as well. We will try to have a popular vote version of this every month as well, but we will see how things unfold for this award.

Ghost of the Month:
Similar to the one above, this one would be an award for the best ghost of the month voted by our team. Yeah, we are considering a popular vote version and prizes for this in the future as well. Maybe a top 3 could also be nice. A variation of this (Ghost of the Year) could totally be a thing as well. Let's see how things will work.

So far those are the awards we are planning to do so far. Those awards will probably happen earlier in the month starting next month, but we are still figuring out the exact dates. Also, we are totally open for suggestions for awards related to this forum sections (and maybe others in the future).

Community Polls:

Another idea that we have was to make Community Polls to have a better feedback on what the community might have to suggest about the Races forums. We might extend this to other forums in the future, depending on how well things work here. Some polls might be related to the awards or the top 100 list, the Official Featured Ghosts thread or whatever is considered a good thing to debate here.

So, this post will be more to explain the content of the thread and add new awards, while the 2nd post will contain the current winners from the awards and the name of the current active poll. This main post will also contain an archive with the previous awards winners.

Also, this thread intends to be one that will hear the community's thoughts on subjects related to racing in the game, so feel free to discuss the poll/awards results, or give ideas and suggestions for the those, or even discuss things in general that you would like to see here. For example, you could suggest a "Ghost of the Month" or say who is your pick for Ghoster of the Month, for example in the posts below.

OCTOBER 2020 - Ghosting Awards Results

GHOSTERS OF THE MONTH:

1 - Chaos-Fallen - I think you had your best month on FRHD ever, so that's saying something. Many legendary ghosts, 7 features, deserves the win. Earned the Pro Ghoster medal, beat some iconic ghosts, really dope job, man.

2 - Unknown-Rider - Crazy job as well, I also think you had his best month on FRHD ever and should climb many positions in the next Free Rider Top 100 list. Really close to Chaos-Fallen, you tied with him gaining 7 features for ghosts in the last month and had many other good suggestions. But we felt like Chaos's ghosts were slightly better overall. But this was a top-notch fight at a really insane level. Might not happen again soon. But I hope it does. Earned the Pro Ghoster medal as well. Legendary job by both of you

3 - RedOrBlue - Not your best month, especially with new suggestions, but you did a pretty good job in October. You got 5 features, but 2 were "stolen" from the old featured ghosts list and 3 were taken back from Backtwice, who had stolen them first. So no new suggestions, really. Still, you showed your comeback power and clearly stated that it's no easy thing to take your features. Well-deserved 3rd place.

Shoutout: CHARREDLIZARD21 did really good this last month, showing us that he's a dope blob ghoster and getting some features. Deserves a shoutout.

GHOST OF THE MONTH

NOVEMBER 2020 - Ghosting Awards Results

GHOSTERS OF THE MONTH:

1 - Sharkfin/Cerulean - November (and honestly this month as well) has been a troubled month for you in the forums for multiple reasons. I know some people might not like the choice since you are getting some criticism, where some of that is totally deserved and some maybe not. But the point is, that at least from a ghosting standpoint, you did a remarkable job in November. Technically you only got one feature that is still yours in November (UTAH), since the one on Movie Manie CCE I beat you back and the other ones were in December already. Still, you were quite active and made some solid suggestions (some we reviewed already) that will probably grant you a couple more features. You are showing an extreme skill on tubes and a decent amount of skill in other types of tracks. Great job for your ghosts from those last couple of months, and please try to stay out of trouble, because if you for some reason get banned in the other thread, the same will apply to all ghosting related threads. Good luck and keep the great ghosts coming.

3 - DrChill - This was a tough one to decide. So many ghosters with a similar impact on the month, but we decided to give the 3rd place to DrChill. You finally entered the list beating Chaos-Fallen's feature, that was previously mR..A's. That's no small deal, since the offroad standards are crazy. You also entered the fight for the feature on UTAH, beating me, Kazman and Skijumping, finishing in 2nd place on the track. Some other good suggestions here and there, you deserve the spot here. It's cool to see some new faces in these awards, so keep killing it in the game and you might be here more often.

Shoutouts: RedOrBlue was good as always with many cool ghosts, but it wasn't as crazy as in some other months (but is already on fire in December), Eryp also did great with a new feature and a good ghost on Blibberd (then beaten by RedOrBlue). DECEMBER 2020 - Ghosting Awards Results

GHOSTERS OF THE MONTH:

1 - Sharkfin/Cerulean - Last month was a tough battle. We had some of the best ghosts of the year and some of the best months of some ghosters in the game, so it was tough to decide. After some analysis and points made we decided to give the Ghoster of the Month award by the second consecutive month to Cerulean. He stole 3 features: Unforgiving 4 from mudkip, Rage Free from Ultraviolet (might be removed but it's still dope) and Geometric from Anonyymi, all very impressive ghosts, and at least 2 new features from his ghosts from December are coming in the next update, that will happen very soon. Also, he also had many other really impressive ghosts, was very active and consistent the whole month, so we will give this award to him once again, this time for probably his best month on the game by far.

2 - RedOrBlue - It was not easy at all for us to put RedOrBlue in second place here, since he had an insane performance last month. He did the ghost that was voted the Best Ghost of the Year in the FRHD Ghosting Awards and had many more solid ghosts that made us consider him for 1st place, but in the end we found more crazy ghosts from Cerulean and decided to go with him. However, it's how it went with that crazy battle between Chaos-Fallen and Unknown-Rider in October, it's a top-notch fight. It doesn't take away the crazy month RedOrBlue had, with 2 features (it's possible that 1 more is coming) and some other really great ghosts. The features he got (on Unforgiving and Un Nouveau Soleil) were insane! Some of the best ghosts we have on the list. He totally deserves some praise for a really crazy month on the game.

3 - Backtwice - This was a tough call. We had some other members that did good last month like Stevie.T (that received one vote for 3rd place on this), but we ended up giving the 3rd place to the legend Backtwice. He came out of nowhere and stole 2 features with really solid ghosts. He got a great lead on Cavernous Exploration and also beat one of Arroww's featured ghosts with a great ghost. It was an epic quick comeback, so we thought that he deserved this spot.

Shoutouts: Stevie.T takes the big shoutout of the month. The guy is being pretty consistent in the last few months, showing some crazy endurance on tracks. His ghosts on Pro's Climb 1 & 2 and Unforgiving 3 (this one being from last month) and now Magnum Opus (already in January) are showing that Stevie.T is a legend in long and hard tracks. Sadly, his ghosts are usually getting either at the end or beginning of the months and always missing the opportunies to get accumulated in the same month, which makes it harder to consider him for the top 3, especially when there's many ghosters doing good. Still, his ghost on Unforgiving 3 was one of the best ghosts of the year, he made some other great suggestions this month, so he deserves a shoutout. Also, he already started January strong, there's a new ghosting contest in the horizon, so who knows what could come next. Good work. DrChill also sent some great suggestions this month, so keep the good work guys!
