List Official Featured Ghosts

Quick statement about the comments below:

So I was discussing with Eryp about this gravity flipper tool, and we agreed that it shouldn't be allowed. It gives the player some advantage since you perceive the track better, while other users don't. Also, it could be classified as a TAS for sure.

Guys, it's pretty simple. If you want to suggest a ghost for the list, please don't use any third-party tools/programs. No TAS, FPS slowers or similars, no Gravity Flipper tool, nothing like that. You can use your keyboard arrows, Z and the spacebar (and maybe the backspace in some cases), or whatever keys you use (maybe WASD or something you configured differently), but other than that, please don't use it, if you want to suggest a ghost for the list.

This gravity flipper thing has a cool effect for sure and it's helpful, but it's an unfair advantage over the general players, since it's not something everyone has and can use.

Also, since Sharkyfin/Sharkfin/Cerulean admitted to use this tool we decided to unfeature ghosts that could have an unfair advantage with the use of this tool. So we discussed a bit about it and decide to unfeature this ghost on Unforgiving 4: frhd.co/t/690667/r/cerulean, since it has 2 uses of the gravity boosts, which could indicate an unfair advantage, since he admitted using them (althought he didn't say he used on this track). If you want the feature back you'll need to beat your ghost (or something very close to that) and have some sort of video proof.

Since we are on this topic, some people seem to be bothered by the fact that Cerulean is on the list. I get that. He's probably the only one that once was known by hacking (at least that we confirmed) that made to the list. It was a long process, but we have seen some video proof that he actually can ghost well on hard tracks and due to his recent claims to be a legit ghoster we gave him a second chance to be on the list.

Since I didn't know about this gravity flipper thing, we weren't clear about allowing the use of this, but now we are, for all things that could be classified as TAS (tools that are not from the game and assist your run). So, Cerulean, consider your 2nd chance finished and now you'll get your 3rd and last one.

Although I think you could be nicer to others on the game and on the forums, I think you did most of your part on the "not-hacking" subject, so you'll get this last chance. Any further discovery that you cheated on this game in a new suggested ghost for (or from) the list will result in a ban from the list.

As far from his other ghosts, at least for now we are not removing them or preventing him from suggesting new ghosts, but we'll ignore all suggestions involving gravity boosts that he made before.

I hope everything is clear and that we don't need to make another post on that topic. In resume, no third-party tools are allowed on suggested ghosts, Cerulean has only one more chance to keep himself elegible for the list, his Unforgiving 4 ghost will be unfeatured, the rest will be kept and he can suggest new ghosts. We will review his suggestions, but ignore the ones with uses of the gravity boosts.

It doesn't make much difference, honestly. It only wasn't banned because we didn't know about this tool. So, for example, following this logic, if someone suggested a TAS'ed ghost made before we said we wouldn't allow TAS'ed ghosts, should we accept it? That doesn't make much sense.

Yeah, he might have not have used it there, but since it's possible, I don't think a video proof of him doing a better, equal or at least similar ghost to his featured one is unfair. Even if we believe he didn't used it, there's enough breaks of trust to make us at least require proof.

I get your frustration. But this tool isn't just a visual change, since it affects the way you perceive the track, which could make it easier to execute the movements needed. You are not banned from suggesting ghosts, but for the Unforgiving 4 ghost and the other suggestions that you already made that use gravity boosts, we would like some proof that you can do those ghosts without any tools helping you. Maybe you don't need to beat them, just get close. After that, you will be probably be "clean" of all this stuff and we will not keep asking much more of the video proofs (unless it's needed). It's not that big of a deal.

And if you think this is unfair, remember that you were the one hacking in the first place. Actions have consequences. Many people probably would prefer that you were not on the list but we are giving you a chance to prove that you are good without this stuff, and I think you can do it. Just stop using any tools, programs, mods and stuff that didn't come from the game to improve your ghost, show us that you can do those hard tracks without any third-party help, and then you are good to go.

 

I feel like at least for the Unforgiving 4 ghost, maybe. It would help if it was better than mudkip's ghost at least. If we have suspicions about some other ghost we'll let you know.
