india and china both have larger populations than the US. they both have
significantly lower case totals at this point, as well as having daily case numbers that are orders of magnitude lower than the US'. the US would have a harder time since it's at the center of so many global systems at this point, but comparing it to other international hubs like china, france, singapore, etc. the numbers still show an incredibly stark difference.
it was the middle of winter when it first appeared everywhere (in the northern hemisphere), yet other places were able to contain it.
is the point with this one that we're further along because we got it earlier? countries that got it earlier than the US (china, japan for example) still managed to contain outbreaks. we're also >8 months into this and most countries got their first cases within the first few weeks, and the difference between a country that got it on tuesday vs. one on saturday at this point is not much.
doctors were saying this is an extremely volatile virus since the beginning; it wouldnt have spiraled into a pandemic so easily if it wasnt so transmittable. covid is a type of coronavirus, which is an already-extant family of viruses including things like the common cold, so certain characteristics of the disease can be inferred from that. thats more than enough info to mandate things. this, combined with anecdotal evidence of early outbreaks, is why china was instituting quarantines as early as january before the disease had transmitted to other places.
this is so stupid and has been debunked over and over again. the blm protests didnt cause a national spike, nor did they cause local spikes. theres been academic papers published on this already but its still a point that gets brought up to undermine the point of the protests, which is a separate argument on its own.
cant follow the rules if there arent any to follow in the first place. the natl government totally left states out to dry with no national mask mandate or quarantining requirements until way too late, and that was with scientists and doctors saying to do otherwise. also note that the republican party's stance since like april has been "go back to work", which is patently anti-lockdowns and pr

pening the economy, inevitably leading to many more infections and with that many more deaths.
ignoring that 200k is the most on the planet and is objectively an incredibly large amount of people, if the US had 2 million dead itd mean ~200 million infections, which is an insane number we're not even close to globally. i dont know where this 2 million number is coming from, but if any health expert predicted that to happen within a year of the first outbreaks they're incredibly wrong and as such probably shouldnt be cited as a source for what trump did well, since all other evidence points to the exact contraire.
this is publicly available information. please just use your brain for once. question the info the government is giving you and why they might be saying these falsehoods. it takes just an ounce of brain power and critical thinking to see theyre lying to distract from their actions (or lack thereof) that lead to over 200k dead. maintaining dumb positions like these are more than mere ignorance at this point since thinking this way will lead to more people dying. its moronic that this eminently available information has to be spoonfed to people like you on a silver platter before you could even begin to consider that it might be true. your thoughts and actions are infecting and killing people, whether you know it or not
