List Official Featured Ghosts

I did my best to do some research and couldn't find anything that showed that you got over 20 features. But I could be wrong for sure. In the old list you finished with 10 features. Did you really lost 12 features at the time you were running the thread? I really don't remember that or found any evidence of that (but my search is limited, though. I can see the history of posts in this section of the forums but the history for that main post was deleted). Also, I'm on FRHD pretty much since the beginning so I pretty much followed the birth of the old list and the chaotic birth of this one as well, and I don't recall it being over 20 features. I remember when Sidewalk passed you it was around 13-15 features and was said that it was the new record. So I'm 99% sure you didn't reach 20 features on this thread. In the old one it might be possible, although really surprising, since there were way less featured ghosts. There were only 36 featured ghosts and 11 ghosters in the old list when it was locked. Did you really had 22 for yourself at some point? I didn't find any evidence of that amount. On February 6th of 2016 (one day after the creation of the list) I have proof that you did have only 5 features (DblU quoted an older version of the post). On February 7th of 2016, RiderExtreme2 quoted the main post and you had 8 features. On March 10th of 2016, Todredrob quoted the main post and you had 9 features then. On April 29th of 2016, HereCumzTheStick quoted the post and you had 10 features. On October 29th of 2016, Chapter quoted the post and you had 10 features. In the end of the thread on October 31st of 2016 you had 10 features, because that is what is there right now. The last edit of the post was in this same day, so unless someone who could edit the thread (a mod or yourself) changed the ghosts of the list, I had no reason or evidence to believe that you reached 20 features. No shade or anything, just explaining part of the research I did. One day after the beginning of the thread you had 5. In the end you had 10. In the middle, on all of those "checkpoints" it shows 8,9 or 10. In the new thread, I'm pretty sure you didn't reach 20, since Sidewalk beat your record with something between 13-15. So, unless I'm terrible at researches, I don't think that I'm that wrong to believe that you didn't reached the "Legendary Ghoster Medal". But it's all good. As I said, since the history of the post was deleted I can't be 100% sure.

Also, the main thing we considered was the current thread anyways, so for that scenario I think I got it right.
PS: In my personal opinion, guys like you, Noob and Sidewalk deserve the legendary medal for the impact on the community and guys like Unghosted deserve at least the pro ghoster medal as well. Many more deserve the Recognized Ghoster medal, but we had to set some reasonable criteria.

Not the case. I searched the old thread as well, but the medals were something made by mR..A in this new thread, so I guess it made sense to consider the ghosts reached on this one. And you never reached 20 features here (unless I'm stupid, which could be true, haha).

We thought it was cool just to honor you guys in some ways, especially since you reached those marks on both threads. It's a way to the new ghosters to see that you guys were great ghosters in the game. This way it may help when people who didn't know you guys see your names high on the FRHD Top 100 list for example and then if they come here to check the list or your profiles they know that you guys achieved big things once. I don't know, I didn't think you guys would dislike it that much, but I kinda get the point.

You're not wrong. If you remember how it went, I was way more supportive of you guys side, to be honest. You guys had more features than most people on the thread for sure, but you guys deserved to have that in my opinion. You guys were way more strict to feature your own ghosts than you were to feature ghosts from others. I feel like mR..A might have been a better mod for the thread in some aspects, since he was as good as you guys, was involved, but not that involved to the point he was really competitive around here. You guys were a bit more involved and more competitive (not too much in my opinion), but you guys were also the best (alongside mR..A, but you guys were more active at some point), so I wouldn't mind it either way. But it was handled poorly for sure back then.

Because mR..A officially passed the torch to Whisk and I, then Whisk left, then crazywizard_13/Calm.Wizard/adversitas came and then he left as well, then Eryp came and now both of us are running the thread (and kind of the Races section of the forums) together for a year (I'm here for a year and a half already, though).

I don't speak finnish and Google Translator didn't help much, but I see that you are kind frustrated for how some things were handled. I get it. I didn't like how it happened for you guys back then, but then things seemed to run smoothly after a while with mR..A, until he got kinda inactive. He offered me the role (you guys were already kinda gone) and I accepted and tried to do my best at it. Since some mods are a bit inactive it's been a bit hard to get things done but we are doing it, step by step. We got medals for certain amount of features, for some ghosting contests and things like that, so I guess I'm trying my best to present a good and fair Races Forums alongside Eryp and some help from others.

Is it perfect? Of course not. We have been called out for the "featured fast ghosts with tricks" a while ago, for featuring many short ghosts, especially auto cuts and many more stuff, but we keep moving on, learning about what works and also what doesn't, fixing the mistakes and improving the thread overall. Yeah, it sucks that we are getting some stuff that you guys might have deserved more, but that's kind of the point of what we did. The moment we got the powers to give medals we gave the ones that were delayed, but also gave the ones for people that reached the requirements in this new thread but never got the opportunity to get it. So that's all what we thought about when we did this.

Yeah, the criteria and the standards might have changed a little bit, but so did the community. Other than unspoken's ghost on Contest Entry and Noob's ghost on 3D Bathroom, no ghost from the old thread is still featured (DblU still has Magnus Opus but he improved on the new thread). So yeah, we are accepting different kinds of ghosts and might have more exceptions, but most of the offroad and trial ghosts (the best ghosts) from back then were obliterated. Now we don't accept any kind of broken ghosts anymore and still have some good standards in general, so I'm happy with the place we are.

It's not perfect, the path wasn't the ideal, but I feel like we are getting somewhere and it's not that bad at all (not that you guys said it were).

Sorry for the long text, but that's a fair discussion to have.

 

Yeah we had the part 1 of our update. Part 2 is coming sometime soon. Also, we keep updating stolen features.

 

kinda. the medals are given out to "legendary" ghosters, and ghosting wouldn't be where it is today w/o the contributions you guys (and others) have made, though your efforts aren't visible on the current list of feat ghosts. we don't really have a hall of legendary ghosters, so the medals are what we make do with. it's like retroactively awarding people for their efforts, similar to how a sports hall of fame will still induct members from long ago because their impacts on the sport are clear and obvious. instead of taking the literal definition of the medal (give it to only people w a certain amount of feat ghosts), we've extended it to mean something a bit more intangible. so that's why we've given out these to people retroactively

Yeah, you are right about pretty much everything you said on this for sure. It was just a situation handled poorly that kinda "discredited" the work you guys did. Funny that later you guys kept being the ones with the most features for a while, lol. So the old thread wasn't the "problem".

PS: LOL, this month marks 4 years since the old thread was shut down, lol. It's being a while.

I get your point. I feel like it isn't "fair" to give you the Legendary Ghoster medal (I know you don't want it), but at the same time the Recognized Ghoster medal doesn't feel enough as well, because the current criteria fits a different era. We thought it would be cool and I kinda think it could be viewed as a good thing depending on how you see it, but I understand why you could feel like this is like a half-award or that it feels out of place. It is what it is, though. I know that at least I can't remove awards (it's kinda an unusual request), but I'm pretty sure someone like Max or Stig might be able to do it.

No problem. As I said, my research isn't 100% accurate, so you could be right. As for the medals, same thing I said for Noob.

 

Apparently, another track with ghosts from the list was deleted, so Madara/SanninX lost this ghost and it's now with 28 features:
