Aye aye, cap'n. Threw this together a few weeks ago when I found an empty track laying around on my computer. Thought I would go with an apocalyptic theme (original, I know). I just wanted to challenge myself. What are your guys' thoughts? It's the first time I've ever drawn a car. (I was going for a sedan, but ended up with a van.. Lol). Obviously it needs much more in the background, and quite a bit of detail in the foreground. Other than that, what do you guys think?
I have just found the best way to draw nights racks I will show an example today or tomorrow sometime. P.s. Lots of very hard shadows on one side of a hill/feature.
I have some cartoon drawing skills, but when it comes to realistic stuff I'm not really the best haha, so yeah, me too
I had some help from maple. Just some tips. I think the tree turned out really great. I'm going to make a tutorial on how to make trees like this.
Okay, so I'm uploading this video of me doing the bark of a tree and snow on top of the branches. I made it look better after the video. All I did was take away some leaves that were on top of the snow. Here's the video and picture. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_bFXCmiDsXFTHNZM01GN29sVEE/view?usp=sharing EDIT: I realize it doesn't look good now. What you want to do it to keep the bark going up the tree. On the sides of the tree, add black line to make the bark pop out and look good. As for the snow, keep it puffy. You can make it look like it's falling by making a gap between the leaves and adding snow in the gap.
Crashing water. Yeah, I have no idea how to draw it, especially on here. It's for water falling down a small waterfall. Are there any good pictures of crashing water on FR2? I can't seem to translate it from a real life picture, I just need to see what is done.
We had a decent discussion about waterfalls a while back in this thread. That may help you a little bit, as we were brainstorming different examples of tracks with waterfalls and such. Other than that, I cannot think of any tracks with crashing water other than Maple's Wrath.
Yeah, Maple's was more tidal water, and I don't have the advantage of using black lines to outline, guess I'll just need to pioneer it then.
I see. Have you looked through Forever Falls? http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/1123-forever-falls Chillwind woods has a few rivers, that might help too. http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/1009-chillwind-woods I'm just throwing random stuff out there. You never know what might give inspiration.
Water is a massive btch, I don't think you'll need black outlines. Still water isn't to bad to depict but water in motion is what's really hard. I used black outlines cause sea water is relatively dark for your case I doubt you'll need it. I'll give it a shot later sometime.
Yeah, forever falls has pretty bad detail when you're looking up closing, and Chillwind doesn't really have much crashing water, thanks though
