Oh, and let featured tracks be run by the pros. When the best track makers decide the tracks to get the most attention, quality goes up.
They're already among the most played tracks on the database and we're featured in the past. Why reward them again?
Maybe going by publish date would make the most sense then. That way the newer tracks in the community will be at the top of the list, yet if one wants to play the old classics from CR then they can look towards the end of the list.
People can already see them and do. What we really need atm is a top designers page. And we can set an example with current tracks too.
Are you seriously trying to not get the classics featured. Fact of the matter is they are good and enjoyable and deserve featuring no matter the exposure or age. Just because everyone has already played them doesn't mean new players won't eventually come and need examples of good tracks. You say we can set an example with current tracks, but I don't see that happening any time soon. The majority of the good players are behind us, so we can't count of quality tracks for a while, and in the meantime, to harbor these ideas of trackmaking, the old gems should be featured to support new endeavors.
Sure, but the thing is, crappy tracks are dominating. Example, chillwind woods has around 90 votes, and the pistol track on the trending page has 8 times that. I do think that not many tracks from CR should be feached though, at least the best ones should be. Yeah we definitely need a designers page, leaderboards kinda sucks.
You guys won me over a little bit. But I feel only the tracks that can be identified as landmarks should be featured, and these tracks should all be featured first and left there. So no more old tracks can be featured after that point.
Tracks that I feel are landmarks: Chillwind Woods by lolz666 - one of the greatest of all time set the standard for nature detail to this day The Secret Valley by lolz666 - same reason Day at the Cottage by odin333 - one of the greatest of all time and broke ground for being one of the earliest free roam tracks contest entry by wolfram - should be credited for combining skatepark and trial elements thus helping to ignite the factory genre 3d Bathroom by moose_man - one of the 1st good 3d tracks and broke ground for viewing common objects as a potential track Catch Ya Plane (City Run) by moose_man - though unfinished it pushed city detail to the forefront and ignited the skatepark genre the supermarket by fried_rider - one of the greatest trials of all time and ignited the warehouse/city genre termite nest by fried_rider - arguably the greatest trial of all time Snake Escape by Gongo999 - one of the greatest all time, but changed the way tracks were made by emphasizing unique works of art and imagery in the track Hi Speed by Bumur aka Gongo - one of the greatest all time, broke ground for being the 1st major all grid track also could make a case for inspiring elements of warehouse and skatepark genres Monkie Park by thefunkymonkie - one of the greatest all time, arguably the greatest skatepark of all time Subterra Ulterior - one of the greatest all time if not the greatest, the most well detailed massive track to exist while still being challenging The Vapaa Factory by Vapaa - arguably the best factory of all time Layers by Graggen - Even though northshore isn't looked upon as highly as the past, this is the best out of that genre Plasticorp by plastic pineapple - Modernized the factory genre by putting more emphasis on it's skatepark elements BigBlu3 Compound by BigBlu3 - Best track from the best maker of the dirt genre, arguably the best of that genre Whistler Mt by Jon312 - one of the greatest all time, mixed elements from dirt and nature genres, should be recognized as a landmark of both spelunking by DrManBearPIg - one of the greatest of all time, effectively combined northshore and nature elements and provided us with one of the most recognizable in track visuals with the flick south, kazniti, thepenguins, toxicmahem, thecrypt, stig, max007x, ness, leboulanger, itz chucknorris, etc I would not feature all for their own respective reasons. I did not mention auto makers, because all autos are broken.
I think pssst hit the nail on the head with that... If 'pro's' were to be the ones deciding what tracks were/are worthy of featuring how to decide who is a pro especially since that the vast majority as Cataclysm said "are behind us" and that this site has a lot more newer members compared to those who have a clue or produce average//good//amazing tracks. Any who every track by this guy should be feated <---------
What I've been saying the whole ******* time. You've had a couple good ones. For pssst yeah, all of those are great but tbh there are other great tracks that need in too
Haha I didn't even notice HAWNKS not being there. If we're going to feature an old track then please, let it be Future Roots !
