I was kind of almost at this stage at the start of last year (not these songs really, but songs like them)
it eventually evolved into me listening to a genre called "phonk" - which I now pretty much only listen to now

 

i just listened to that ariel pink song for the first time in years yesterday :-D very good, an old favorite of mine, i think it was included in one of my very first freerider forum music posts on either cr or bhr

 

heres what ive had on repeat since school got out

lumpy and the dumpers broke up a couple years ago but i feel like they're gonna be responsible for creating some crazy new subgenre of punk music in the next 10 yrs if they havent already


just posting their first ep here but ive been vibing with the first two urinals eps, they're definitely up there with devo and wire in terms of bands that still get ripped off to this day


not sure if i already posted this in this thread but who the hell cares? this just some good ole first wave LA punk with early members of the go go's and x. one of the comments describes it perfectly, 'gameshow punk' lol


another band perfectly described by their youtube commenters as 'mumble punk' lmfao, still some really good shite. maybe i can tear down my ian curtis shrine and replace it with the obviously wasted singer of this band
