first real attempt at painting that i had to do for an art class. i did this back in december(ish) i just thought id post it now because that art class has been canceled . i really messed up the side of the barn but other than that i think it went surprisingly okay

pls tell me how to draw a shadow, this one looks terrible

 

Shadows don't have to be directly under an object, so you could draw it in a slightly different direction. Also you could put some texture in the shadow such as rocks to make the shadow look more believable

Ooo, I really like how you still kept the textures of the produce when you shaded everything in. I struggle myself with textures and shading doing value studies lol

 

yeah, kinda (if you make ground detail) try to make the shade blend in with the ground ;D

 

do a bigger rock

 

Really love to know how figured makes such wonderful, huge sized tracks
