Totoca12 I'm reading through the rules, and one thing doesn't make sense for me: You say that seeds going into the group stage will NOT be based on qualifying times. Your logic is that players could intentionally go slower in qualifying in order to have an "easier" group. However, the way I see it, having a better seed would place you against opponents from a lower seed pot, thereby giving you an "easier" group. So, there IS motivation to be seeded higher.

The only reason I bring this up is because I think it could affect me - Based on my qualifiers time, I will probably be in pot B (9-16 in qualifiers), but I might be seeded lower than that if it isn't based on qualifying times. In general, it seems more fair to me to have seeds be based on qualifying times instead of subjective decision making.

On the other hand, someone like Backtwice is currently in 14th, but definitely deserves to be in pot A. Because the seeding isn't based on qualifying times, someone like Backtwice (or you) might not have put in as much effort as they could have. For that reason, I think it's too late to make that change, so I'm not advocating for a last minute rule change. Maybe just make sure to keep qualifying times in mind when seeding, so that it's not based so singularly on reputation. And maybe next year the seeding should be done differently.

 

seeding will be decided upon by a combination of manual seeding and elimination round placement.
both eryp and I will create lists of our personal seeding. here is an example:
