    "alt" is short for "alternate account." some users use them to, albeit agains the rules, like their own tracks immediately after publishing in order to push the track to hot/trending. other's, like the ones mentioned in Sannin 's post, are either old accounts, or new accounts used purely to ghost / trackmake. for example, Joelbmx created his new account, pinn , in order to strip himself of his reputation of his older, worse tracks, and to start anew. other users, such as NotVeryGood , create alts for ghosting. in this circumstance he created the account Campaigned in order to set leaderboard times on campaign tracks. everyone uses alts for different purposes, but here are a couple

    Pointfarm was made as a way of farming points and kind of a reward for any players that stumbled soon the account, and I hadn't seen anything similar to that. HackerAlert3 was made when the HackerAlert stuff was going down and so I made an account under that name so that he/she couldn't. Looking back it wasn't a good idea as he then went on to make the HackerAlertIsMad account.

    This is mostly based on accounts pretty much only having ghosts on fiendish's tracks or some other one of his alt's tracks. Some of these are banned for the name and at least Legs is shared with INCINERATOR.
