Free Rider History Documentary idea

UPDATE: ok we've had some discussion on this, and we've decided that the concept of different eras of frhd history would be an ideal format to structure the video around.

Here's a table. It will have key events and sources in it one day. I will take the first few from pssst's history thread. If you feel more should be added, please suggest : )

Early days: Dec 5th, 2013 - Feb 5th, 2014

Bronze Era: Feb 5th, 2014 - Dec 23rd, 2014

Silver Era: Dec 23rd, 2014 - Dec 11th, 2015

Golden Era: Dec 11th, 2015 - May 18th, 2017

Dark Era/The Cold Winter: May 18th, 2017 - Sep 23rd, 2018

New Era: Sep 23rd, 2018 - Jun 29th 2019

The Revival: Jun 29th, 2019 - present

aight my guys, I had a brief convo with eryp and pssst about this a while back and I still think this is a BRILLIANT idea that could POTENTIALLY REVIVE THE GAME. The whole concept is that a video is made illustrating the history of the free rider series as a whole, pointing out specific trends in trackmaking (maybe also ghosting), community events, popularity of the game over time, introduction of new games and how they contributed to the series and the community response etc etc etc...
Of course I understand that this will be a huge undertaking, as it would potentially require ACCOUNTS OF THE HISTORY OF THE COMMUNITY AND GAME made by SEASONED VETERANS, which in turn will eventually require a JUDGING AND EDITING PANEL, and in consequence GOOD ESSAY-WRITERS (looking at you news team); + any willing SCOURERS, i.e. people who will scavenge early databases and forum posts for important concepts, dates, milestones, landmarks etc. in the form of TRACKS typical to certain trends or pioneering of a genre or such, GHOSTS of much the same criteria as tracks, COMMUNITY CONTESTS, UPDATES and so on.
Lastly we will need a GOOD VIDEO-COMPILER, as in a guy who can put all the sources + essay into a vid and polish it up.

tl;dr this is basically the timeline but concerning free rider as a whole and also in the form of a video


(Excuses for any spelling mistakes or grammar errors, it's 5:29 in the morning here and I haven't slept a wink all night, had to get this out of my head before I inevitably left the community again)

 

willing to help in any way you need! just let me know. also, I think since bhr would most likely be involved, maybe you should get the bhr part out of the way, seeing as forums close in 4 days and tracks delete in August (I'm pretty sure)

edit2: willing to do any of these. not by any means a "seasoned veteran," but I could give a testimony or smth if wanted. other than that I'm willing to write smth, be on the judging and editing panel, and edit/polish/put-together the video. once again, just lmk

I am quite an avid writer myself, and have been with FRHD almost since its inception (minimum on the database). Am very willing and able to help; me and Eryp just recently had a chat about FRHD's earlier days :' )

so should we start this, assuming it's not going to be a complete failure? I'm kinda fuzzy on what to do first, or even where to begin the project tbh

 

Who was feat mod when frhd sarted, what was featured, what additions were added at what time...etc. idk these maybe?

 

Probably begin with a discord or group chat, and decide whether youre starting with the free rider series as a whole or focusing on the current iterations in frhd/bhr
Then itd be about asking the right people from said time periods, and asking the right questions

 

I'm already decided that we should start at the very beginning, but I'm uncertain whether that's free rider 1, or technically line rider

 

I think starting with the creation of frhd would be the better option

i would want to contribute, as ive been play free rider since 2015 (ive had multiple accounts). it's just the fact that i was a douche and a d!ck when i was a user back then that i dont wanna

 

everyone's help would be appreciated if we're doing something like this

 

first thing we do is write a script

 

I can record a voiceover for it, I am told I have a nice voiceover voice and I have a decent mic.

 

since i like ur yt. sure, go for it(if everyone else agrees of course)

 

I think we should start with the greatest ghost/ or track ever on frhd then we backtrack to how it all began. Just a way of drawing viewers in I think. Gotta hype the game up ya know
