Non-Spacebarrer Featured Ghosts [CLOSED]

There are instances where using such scripts are an advantage, just like in your first ghost. I brought that 2nd ghost up because you insisted you only used the script on one track.

You can't spacebar ay 0.07 without lag.

I agree that using spacebar is probably a huger advantage than using a script that just spams Z over and over again. The reason why people consider scripts as cheats but spacebar not, is because for the other one you need an external program and for the other one you don't. Also your arguement wouldn't fit in this thread either way because it's a thread for non-spacebarrers.

I don't believe that statement that I made about spacebarring not being an advantage. The whole point of making it was to show you how ridiculous it sounds, just like saying that scripts aren't an advantage.

 

You are the one that is ridiculous for believing spacebarring is not an advantage. And in the end I was experimenting with a random script a few times. This conversation is going nowhere.

 

Re-read my posts. I'm saying that spacebarring is an advantage. And so is using scripts.

 

Yes, However spacebarring gives u a bigger advantage but using a script is frowned upon because of its using external sources

Mistyy Sorry mate, but scripting won't be tolerated under any circumstances here. I'm looking for purely endurance ghosts, made with no help from anything but patience, perseverance and acute attention. Spacebarring effectively lowers the frame rate of the game, thus giving the user more time to react to situations, often leading to cleaner smoother looking ghosts, yes, and is often much easier to perform tricks, but in essence it's not what I would consider "pure" ghosting. Sure the outcome might look much better than a non-spacebarred ghost, but the production of the non-spacebarred ghost would look much cleaner and less jumpy in comparison, were you to record it. I'd rather not go into this too deeply, as there are plenty of players who feel strongly about the subject, saying that the spacebar function is a built-in part of the game so technically not exploiting anything etc etc.
Scripting, on the other hand, is just plain wrong from all sides, even if it's purely as an occasional optional extra to jazz up the ghost here and there. Any ghosts where we suspect scripting to be in place will not be considered feat-worthy, and might prove you non-eligible to submit any further ghosts.

 

You're not banned yet, man, settle down. You're still in the clear if you don't script any further.

Nice argument. I hope you concluded that script is not ok Mistyy (so is arguing with Anonyymi because you'll lose eventually.) when you become a world class spacebarrer then you should be able to argue freely about ghosts. Spacebarring for me was like driving my first truck. Hard af. But when you get a hang of it, it works. You should try it.

In this ghost on Vulcan by Maple, the script is clearly used only for "cosmetic purposes". It "slows down" or is neutral in terms of speed to his ghost. Whereas on the track by hypercube, the z clicking part is not cosmetic and it gives Mistyy an advantage over spacebarrers and non-spacebarrers during the cave section of the track. I'd agree, in some cases this script is harmless, but if you can use this script, you might use other scripts that can give you an unfair advantage over other players.

Edit - for some reason the page wasn't loading properly and it ended on this note from Anonyymi and so I thought I'd add in my opinion which is now pointless because the argument had come to an end as I hadn't seen before I posted this.

So then, what is the time limit? (you said fifteen seconds)

 

the closer your time is to 15 seconds, the more satisfying your ghost must be. it's practically an equation to it. the longer the track the less your ghost has to be great.
