your right, as most of the illegal immigrants would come to country do some work with a temporary visa then go out, but when we tightened border security we got rid of that circular flow, so illegal immigrants were just those people that decided that it was just easier to stay in the US. In fact most of the illegal immigrants come over the border on planes, and a wall won't prevent planes.
