Favorite Music (Genre/Song)

Hey!

I haven't seen a thread like this (sorry if there is) but I'd like to know what's your favorite genre/song.

Mine: probably, and I like any electronic music, future house, maybe dubstep. or timmy trumpet style sht.

 

mine is Despacito tho, I was just kidding bout that electronic sht.

 

Don't really have a fav song, and as for genre, there's always something nice to be heard in almost every kind.
I used to say my preferred range was around the 1870's to 1930's, when people were starting to mess around with more complicated chords, rhythms, utilising instruments in different ways. It was also the time when swing and rag started to surface and become popular, bizet, saens, gershwin, rachmaninov.
But there have always been songs outside that period that I like. Rossini and a few come from before, while some other classical russians kept composing into the 40's and 50's. Then there are bands like ELO and Madness that come way after. Even now, I've found music that I really dig, especially from the homestuck range, which I discovered recently. Most of the time I don't notice the lyrics at all, but focus more on the actual tune when listening, so I often prefer instrumentals : )
Edit: I do like some electronic style songs, but only when they're done well. I'm not that keen on the naff over-blasted sounds, or the constant blatant repetition present in most pieces, as if the composer thought of one semi-decent motif/sound, then remixed a whole 15 minute song that's really boring to listen to after the first 20 secs. I like there to be variety and expression in the whole thing basically

 

Eh, might be replying a bit late. But my favorite genres are DNB, great for intense and fast paced music, and Glitch hop because it’s a mix of DNB and Dubstep. Trap used to be my favorite, but I just lost my taste for it.

bebop, classic rock, a lot of fusion jazz, funk, folk, ambient, soul. really whatever sounds cool in the moment

 

Favorite genres as of right now: Punk, Post-Punk, Noise Rock, Art Rock, Folk, Classic Rock, Experimental Rock, Hip-Hop.

 

Queen, Springsteen, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Green Day & Michael Jackson. Favorite song out of all of those is probably Hurricane (bob dylan)

 

Rock. I also like some 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s songs, just certain ones though. Occasionally the 2000s, but I prefer 50s-80s.
I like Bobby Darin, but of course nobody knows who he is.

atm listening to most 90's - 2000's rock. I've been listening to a lot of Slipknot, Stone Sour, Deftones, Radiohead, Soundgarden, Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Korn, Alice In Chains, and Chevelle. Favorite songs right now are:

Can't decide on any favorite songs or artists. I can listen to any genre but rock is definitely my favorite.

Recently I've been listening to Ariel Pink and it's pretty nice.
