Chuck should have to actually make tracks to be in the campaign, instead of using his 2-4 year old tracks
Well, that's not what this is. This is who can make the smoothest track not the best track. There are dozens if not over a hundred mountain tracks better than yours. Wheeliemaker has made loads of tracks better than you.
Hey all, let's keep this thread constructive. I was afraid that opinions may start to run wild and quickly turn into author bashing. Let's keep it civil.
Just take the creator of some of the most played and loved tracks of all time and tell him his tracks are practically aweful. the thing is, you did not tell him why. you just stated it. So helpful.
Nothing is wrong. #12 in the campaign is the toughest with a 6% completion rate. All tracks with <30% completion in my mind are difficult and are placed for players to skip if they can beat it as they are followed by a +30% completion rate track. So #7, #9 and #10 are challenging and we will likely see those gain the highest skips. When placing difficulty of tracks, we are mixing in easy, intermediate and difficult so that if players hit a difficult and they skip they will be playing a track that is easier on the next one, unless they are skipping a +40% completion rate track.
No but seriously, times have changed. e; I wrote like 5 paragraphs and my pc deleted them all and I can't be ****** to write that heartful and sensitive again. tl;dr he used to be good, times changed, better tracks, detail > Play etc..
These are all good tracks that match the theme. http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/1097-yellow-stone http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/53080-yellow-mountain http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/4579-bhaktan-mountains Why can't we have more challenging tracks in the campaign? I mean, I know you guys are trying to appeal to newbies, but isn't keeping more advanced players just as important? I'm not saying go crazy with the hard tracks, but c'mon, I beat the action campaign with full gold stars in about 30 mins.
They are trying to appeal to the ingame players, most of which are newbies. So in their mind, no. We are not quite as important. we probably make up less than 1 % of all FRHD players (Ask the devs.) EDIT: Im not sayin just nooby pooby tracks tho. Challenge is good
I think the biggest thing is to not think about this as "Featured Tracks". That will be a whole different thing. This is about levels. Mario style campaigns.
I think that the campaign is more like an expansive tutorial, at least I always saw it as that, so then it would make sense to not include really hard, good looking tracks right?
Since there's lots of activity circulating around this thread could official authors be able to do like their own mini campaign within the campaign? Official authors cuold make a series of tracks which would take players kinda through a journey/story and you guys of course can decide whether or not the series of tracks can be put in as its own campaign. Example of a series could be rider starts in countryside the rider ends next to a bus stop. Next track would be a continuation of previous having the rider get of a bus, pass through a city, ends at subway station entrance. Next track after, the rider starts of at subway and so on. These tracks would gradually become more difficult So basically this campaign is not theme but rather story/journey based
Yeah but then I'd feel this would work better if users got assigned to it otherwise many people may aim for one section. e; ty Eric Char for not pm'ing me an edited list I know there was one.
Yeah, that would be awesome. If you can organize this, we would be on board. The less work we have to do the better, as the list of things todo is always growing. I would be down for a story campaign.
