Yeah I agree, adding color to the lines you make, like choosing the color of the line you want, but only modifitable in the editor not when people play it. Also the same with the bike.
Could get sloppy with bright colors. It might work with natural colors like dark greens and browns though; nothing that stands out too much.
Light colors could be used as scenery, and dark colors for track lines. IMO the biker would better stay black, as it may be confusing to distinguish.
Same for me too, by bright colors, I mean lighter (more transparent) versions of the colors. Green trees and yellow sand wouldn't look too bad.
I wouldn't like it with colours since the black and white is what defines canvas/free rider, colour means people will spend less time making it detailed too. I'm happy with black and white.
How come colors would make tracks less detailed? It's not like FR2 color tracks, they are recommending line colors, not like the "fill" ones in FR2.
I kind of like the simplicity of the black and grey. It's not that colors would look bad, it's just that the black and white has a nostalgia to it.
I just think people might not spend as much time shading if they can use colours instead, which wouldn't be nice.
So, you ARE getting that it'll not be like the "fill" tool in Paint. If the colors are only for lines (line color), then the shading would be perfectly fine. It's not like there's no shading in colors. For shading, it doesn't matter whether it's B&W or colored.
