Question Whats the best way to figure out if someone should be OA?

Hey riders,

Deciding who get OA takes too much time away from developing FRHD further. We need to come up with a better way to decide who gets OA, an automated system is just not feasible right away now hopefully will get one implemented in the future.

My idea,
Create a poll for this week where people can suggest who should be OA and the community can vote. Everyone must be fair and honest for it to work.
if this works it would be a very easy way for me to get everyone updated with OA.

What are your thoughts?

 

I think a poll would be a bad idea, because most noobs don’t know what it means to be OA nor what a good track is. If you have taken a glimpse of the tracks on trending, you’ll find easy, non detailed track. A poll would just make oa a lot worse than what it is rn. What I think y’all should do is add official author moderators, who can add official authors. Maybe you could make all the feat mods and people with featured tracks minus TallTexan have the ability to add and take away oa from people.

Hey, can we leave this OA business behind us and just add a more exclusive title like Elite Author? Then, people won't be so mad about noobs getting OA and start focusing on the new rank.

 

A poll is good, when people choose who they want, people look over it, and ONE person should be elected to oversee all of the choices been said. Then they can be elected as an official Author. Or take it from everyone and start the whole system again.

 

Yeah I vote for stripping everybody of Oa. No joke.

 

if there was a new rank added it would be bad. everyone would think they are good enough to have it even when they are a terrible track maker (like my self). the OA thing made all the noobs up-them-self. FRHD has really dug its self into a deep hole

For what it’s worth, I can’t really see the poll idea playing out well/fairly. You’d probably get hundreds of submissions at a time (just look at how many people spam the mods for OA atm), also every man and their dog has an alt nowadays.

Phase’s idea looks more promising but then I imagine that the people who got the title of OA mod would just get spammed equally as hard as the mods do rn.

Maybe the poll could only be on the OA discussion making it somewhat professional.

 

That's still going to be filled up with people who don't really have enough experience to know what a good track is. Not taking a stab at anyone but it is true.

Well-Known members are just determined based on how many posts you have on the forums, so you could be an amazing track author and not have OA if you're not on the forums
