      Welcome all scholars!
This is the main thread were all us nerds can boast, ask for knowledge, help each other, devise new ways to annihilate the teachers and demolish the school, share interesting ideas, complain, moan, brag and general other academical stuff.
      Things I accept:
      - ANYTHING to do with school. You can even send in pictures of your work/class/local school being vaporised by your newly developed atomiser
      Things I do not accept:
      - ANYTHING ELSE.
      - No severe profanity, spamming, bullying, porn, blah blah blah, rubbish, rubbish , rubbish
Also, if going to wipe school off of map, keep it local. Don't go foreign, or you'll be counted as terrorists.
      Enjoy!!:):):)

Simple statement of the postulates of quantum mechanics
Below, we summarize the basic postulates of quantum mechanics and contrast them with roughly equivalent postulates of classical mechanics.

      Classical:

      1.
Particles are point-like objects that follow predictable, deterministic paths with well-defined positions and momenta obtained by solving Newton's laws of motion

      2.
The energy of a system can take on any value.

      3.
If the initial conditions of an experiment repeated many times are the same in each repetition, the outcome of the experiment will be the same for each repetition, and that outcome is predictable.
      Quantum:

      1.
Particles can exhibit wave-like or particle-like behavior, depending on the experiment. Even within the particle-like interpretation, particles do not follow well-defined, predictable paths and hence, do not have well-defined positions and momenta.

      2.
The energy can take on only certain discrete values.

      3.
Even if a system is prepared in the same way for different repetitions of an experiment, the outcome need not be the same in each repetition. All that we can predict is the probability that a given outcome will be obtained.

Though I must say that if our technology were advanced enough to control every stray particle during the experiments, we could theoretically determine exactly what would happen, I suppose

octo well, the answer would be 15 marbles, but that's just the classical answer. If you account for ALL other ways (you go buy some more, you lose them down the gutter, 10 more marbles appear in your pocket through a spinning wormhole sent from your evil nemesis in another dimension) then you'll find that the number of marbles you would expect to have, and the number you actually have, differs. In fact, the marbles have become a variable now, so there is no proper answer, unless you know for sure how many there are. You'll need to constantly observe them to make sure their wave functions stay constant and they don't disintegrate into a parallel universe. Let's say a couple thousand high-speed cameras, a bunch of burly guards with burly guns, barbed wire fence all round and inside a super-balanced vacuum chamber. Oh, also you will have to be in there with them as well, but that's just to make sure that this isn't a dream or a conjecture. The trouble is we don't know if you're going to disappear with the marbles, since you're the one who introduced these highly-unbalanced marbles in the first place. And for extra measure we'll put Michael in there with you, since his marbles might have set off this whole, paradoxical situation. Then when the teacher does return, they'll be able to hear you via the aid of a walkie-talkie about 3 miles away, and to confirm your answer they will have all three options of checking the feedback from the cameras, asking the guards, or blasting off to the ISS to scrutinise them through a space telescope, lest they do anything unexpected, such as explode with the force of 1000 hydrogen bombs. Of course, we don't actually know if that will happen, but there is always a slim chance.
      Hope that helps!

If I eat 964.719 pancakes in approximately 6 7/5 of two minutes, and Donald Trump recounts his submission to the Icelandic president who has 3/4 of a daughter, and elephants trample a city of 45.473 x pi% dill pickles and the remaining percent are also dill pickles, how many arms does the standard human have?
