Started an abstract track today so the detail is slightly different than I'm used to. Any art detailers that can help me, give me some cc or ideas and whatnot? This is the first detail coat - the background and foreground will be heavier in detail and patterns
Don't go looking around for things to draw it'll just limit your creativity instead draw whatever youre feeling. sorry if its not useful but abstract is pretty much up to you, very expressive and lots of freedom.
Thanks, I'll stop planning and just try have fun with it. I'm going to light some incense and sage and channel my inner hippie to create a sh1tstorm of a track
Hey it's not bad, the trunk is a little too thin compared to the fronds though. I love the fronds also, the bulbous thingy at the top of the trunk looks a bit wide. The texture is just fine as well
There is a picture, I have the picture here, click here to see the picture: http://i.imgur.com/MhTzXGf.png
It needs to be thicker, in comparison to the leaves it looks awkward. It's not a fail. e; oh arm already said that silly me
When working on a new track do you guys plan the ride out first or make it up as you go along? Also what do you do if you have no motivation? Do you just drop the track and move on to something else or just wait until you feel like continuing? I'm just wondering cuz I feel so discouraged when I do bigger tracks. I always end up questioning myself if I should continue or I just wasted a bunch of time T_T In addition whenever I look back on the tracks Im working on there is always something I want to change, after that is changed I feel like the rest of the track isn't up to par and my artistic side ends up unsatisfied throughout the making of these tracks and its like a cycle of self conflict
When i make a track i usually have a vague plan of what i'm going to do. Then i will sketch the ride (the part of the track you ride on) untill im happy that ive got a smooth/fun track. Then i start detailing, sometimes as i detail it will affect the ride and i will edit it until it is smooth again. So it is really a process of try, fail, try again untill i have something i am happy with. The one main thing i do with my tracks is i play them continuously, to make sure the track is still fun and to see the track from the point of view of a player rather then a creator. p.s. If you guys have some tips for new free rider players/artists please post them on my forum (http://community.freeriderhd.com/threads/tips-for-new-free-rider-players.942/) i am planning on making some videos on these tips, for a possible Free Rider HD youtube page.
Back when I drew I didn't really care to much about detail so it was fine. Now, however, my standards are raised and I've become more picky about the things I work on. Often I'll redo whole sections as I simply think they are not good enough for the whole of whatever I am working on. After these areas are improved the rest of it all is left feeling lacking which causes me to redo my work. All this leads to a vicious cycle of discontent. The process i must undergo in such drawings are as if I am trapped within an abusive relationship where I keep coming back in attempts to fix problems but always end up with more. Forever i am tortured by the inner conflict on whether or not I am to continue detailing or move on and have to face reality; realize all the time wasted. Even if I were to stay determined and persistent on my works, will it be worth it? The opinion and likes of others is my reward, to say I am doing this for myself is ridiculous. Drawings are to show the rest of the world, it is the audience who give you gratification. Ultimately either decision, in these precarious situations will never wield a good outcome. To foretell this is a great ability, a skill that no one truly has. Everything is simply abandoned or unfinished. ^lol just felt like writing that 4fun Edit: just saw your post ty timartin
FreeRiderHD already has a YouTube channel, but if you talk to Eric/Char/Ash, I'm sure they will be willing to post some of your videos on their account. Its up to you though.
The question, "would you rather make one of the best (insert anything here, in this case tracks) of all time and have no one see it, or make an average track that everyone sees," comes to mind here. I think I'd rather die knowing I exhausted my abilities. If I do not receive self-gratification from something I'm not going to spend a ridiculous amount of time on it, regardless of the amount of compliments I get. They are definitely fuel to the fire but I'm not going to drag myself through glass to get others appreciation.
Ty for advice, don't worry about the last parts of what I wrote, all bullsh.t. That's not really how I feel. I just was in a creative mood to write and I wrote that to amuse myself.
Thank you, I clicked on the picture. I saw the picture, I liked the picture. Youo should totally continue that, it looks awesome so far
