Get rid of the coin requirement and finishing requirement for posting a track.

Title. I think it discourages users just looking to make something. The newest section really isnt that active for these precautions to be needed. Just limit the amount of tracks able to be posted in an amount of time to prevent spam, not applying to OAs.

Also taking away the reason most people want OA, changes it to an actual acheivement.

 

They should take OA from everyone, and then be more strict about it. Some of the best get it rite away, but others earn it. 50 subs, or something like that

Totally agree. Coin requirement isn't that much though. 25 coins? Ehhh. Finishing requirement would be cool, it would be like "must have ____ kb" or something like that. Really good ideas, but considering they just did a whole revamp of the site, they aren't gonna do anything anytime soon

 

I don't mind paying but I don't like having to beat my tracks. Like, I'd beat it and know it's possible but then add like a checkpoint or some detail or something and have to beat my hard track again.

 

I totally agree with you pssst. Those are just terrible game-design choices for such a game...
...weeell to be fair I think this whole free2play business model is a ridiculous joke that should have never been applied to such a game.
Also I don't like the fact that you are obligated to use the editor on FRHD website. Same with CR to be fair. There should be a way to embed the editor everywhere so it would be shared a lot more (+ more people would come to the website to play the maps and beat the ghosts). The original FR2 became so popular because it was shared all over the internet. Hell, without the possibility to embed the editor, the french community I used to be around in my 12~14 wouldn't have existed at all. Btw this community died at the creation of Kano Games' FRHD.

At least I blasted the CR security, so now my CR-editor should be playable from everywhere, if someone takes the time to share it

As far as track completion before uploading, it's the toss up of having a bunch of tracks that are impossible to complete or not.

We could make a separate side of the FRHD website assigned to un-OA and to be able to make tracks that are visible to the home page you need to meet OA or a sub amount. The non OA have to be proven worthy to publish on FRHD home page. It could be like https://www.freeriderhd.com/un-oa where all the bad tracks are shown. I'm sorry if this didn't come out clear

 

If a track is impossible, its probably gonna get several dislikes and no one ends up playing it anyways. It wont be a big problem.

We are actually thinking about making it so players have unlimited uploads soon as well.
As well as potentially posting wips that will only be allowed access from the link.

Unlimited uploads is not a good idea, the limited uploads encourages players to make quality tracks to make the most of their last 20 or so tracks. Just look at the massive boost of decent tracks from WheelieWaffle1 recently such as World Wheelie (Comp) (which is a good wheelie and it has some detail) compared to some of their old tracks like Wheelie collab anyone (which has a mediocre wheelie, no detail and is short) and you can see the difference. Maybe it would be a good idea to warn people when they get close to their limit with a message like this:

srsly? There are literally no good authors that are worried about hitting the cap for uploads, it would only allow newbies to spam tracks a ton. I suppose if we kept the coin requirement in place it would slightly help but the cost of uploading a track is barely a problem.

People now just play trending tracks, don't play anything else.
There is no problem to spam tracks. And even no people can see their tracks, anyone's tracks.
