i used to think the same, now i can't use the bhr editor

 

I can't do anything about BHR shutting down, i never had the rights nor the access to the server, and René is probably gone for good. The last thing you'll probably ever see from the website is this. You'll probably rarely ever see me again too, as i don't like frhd's gameplay, so this may be farewell for now.
Hope y'all have fun with it though.

 

Today, there was a big impact in the Free Rider Community. We lost one of the, if not, the best versions of Free Rider in history. Please, take a moment to thank and love the ones around you, because some day you might just lose them and never get a chance to say goodbye. Rest in Peace Black Hat Rider, you truly had an impact on my life.

Honestly I'm glad pssst gave those 3 feats out. It makes track makers like me have a shot at a featured track, but we still have to put effort into it. Now it's possible for more people to have feats, which I think is good for the game. It promotes better track quality, and there will be more good tracks rather than bland ones. People of my skill will be trying to get a feat, isn't that good for the game? That's just my opinion though, I don't know what you guys think.

 

Thats true from a lot of peoples perspectives. Although from other authors, getting a feature isnt as rewarding now. Ive been working on a track since January cause Ive been wanting to be next to the greats. its not that encouraging to me anymore now that theres a feature every week. im not going to rant but features lost their authenticity

 

To be fair to pssst, at least he's going to care about the community.

 

I just want people to be rewarded for their time and effort.

Very few people have the time energy and motivation to put months into a track, and if that was the standard, we may never see any additions to the list. The featured track list is supposed to be used as a motivational and recognitional tool. If you put more time than others in your track, it will likely be recognized and appreciated by the community, but the fact that you did that doesnt mean anyone who did anything less deserve no credit

 

if you'd like to put any of lolz's tracks on the same pedestal as "Slopes in the Forest 2" be my guest, but i'm not gonna agree with it. the people that were featured before were featured because they really really wanted to make something good, to the absolute top of their ability (at least for the time that they made it). the feature mark shouldn't be a low bar to make easier to hit. it should be something to aspire to hit, to try as hard as you possibly can for a month or two to get to.

that's just my opinion on it. people are gonna disagree with me on that but there are years upon years of good tracks out there. just work for the feature lol

 

ehhh i kinda agree with that. ive seen people put months into their tracks, and still not get featured. uhmmm... Phase had his huge stars track not get featured (for FFA), and that coulda been featured by the context of ur post. although at the same time, i completely get it. there should be a comitee, but who knows what the mods will do . but the motivation thing is nice, and hey, motivation is always good, just try not to overload it


this is just me, so keep working guys, and even if you have been spending years for a feat track, at least it will prob get featured

 

Sure, phase drew up a lot of stars and sure it took a long time! Feature worthy, think again. Its a bunch of dots.

 

In no where of my post I said that I thought it could've been featured. I said that by the context of pssst's post that it could've been featured, but nowhere I said that I thought it should've been featured. I personally think that shouldn'tve been featured, cause featured tracks need some track detail, not a ton of heli.

 

You are really misrepresenting what I said to reference that track.

However the track is a really smart idea. Had he done something different than the stars, per say, asteroids and added some good space scenery consistently, I would feature it.
