'funny' story:
up until a few weeks ago i had actually been pretty into the whole christianity thing–finally after like, 8 years. i interacted with my church and participated with a pretty positive attitude most of the time. but once the sermons/messages (whatever) were brought to the topic of séx and sexuality, there was a whole REALLY potent anti-homosexual tone, which was a massive turn-down. i mean the way the pastors portrayed their message like 'being gay is a sin; you should repent or be sent to hell.' and sh¡t like that. they fuking compared it to committing adultery and incest, like what even?

i still believe in a supreme being, cause i mean there has to be something, right? but it's really difficult to go further than that, especially with a mom who's a super devout christian, who makes me 'volunteer' and go on trips with the youth group.

^ Here a lot of churches have taken a turn recently in the way they teach that kind of stuff. I remember when I was younger they taught it to be more taboo and shameful but one year we got a new guy who taught unity and respect over any of that, (which was great, because, you know, im fuckin gay as sht lol.) Then I stopped going because my mom stopped making me and I was never into it anyways. Most churches participate in pride month events in New York nowadays lol. Doesn't mean the attendees agree necessarily, but the tone here has evolved completely in recent times especially. The further you get from the city core though the more conservative the views get, as one would expect. Give it a bit and I'm sure your state might turn a bit too. You more rural or urban where you are?
