Quick question as I have no idea what to do: Should the detail seen on rock 2 be kept, or does it look better plain (as on rock 1)? If they both look bad/plain/etc what should I do? Should I do the detail to all faces or only some? I think it looks too plain without some form of detail, and the idea is to make the rocks seem like theyre made of somewhat reflective material- like a dull reflective silver of some sorts. These 'rocks' are in no way meant to represent realistic rocks
that's awesome maybe if you detailed both rocks like the second rock, just in one direction. detail the same side of each rock so it looks like there's a lightsource.
Doing a collab with JerryAxi , we added this, and to me it just doesn't look right. Please help (They're stalactites)
it would probably look better if they weren't completely overlapping and they all connected, Also if you added more detail on the stalactites themselves and not just the outline (unless your going for something simple)
this is just me but maybe add some detail to the inside of the stalactites. even if is just little lines, it could create a huge difference. also: try not to leave the inside empty. add some kinda detail. just my idea
Hello, I thought I would tell people how I apply leaves to trees. Even though I'm a "noob" I think I have a reasonably good understanding of how this is to be done. Personally, I like to start with a simple shape for the trunk/branches, like this: Then I start to apply the leaves. I look at the direction the branches face, whether up, left, or right, and create the three groups of leaves that would potentially grow on the branches. Sometimes the shape of the leaves won't make sense, so you may need to change the outline slightly. Then after that you can apply more layers to the leaves to make the top part more circular. Then you're done! Your tree has leaves now.
